He and Trump had been going at each other for quite awhile; not surprising

I voted for Trump and likely to do so again but I do not believe he handled this with any class.

He was the worst thing that could have happened to Trump (PBUH)
Lied to get the job and then stabbed Trump (PBUH) in the back with his lies and liberal Hillary loving ways!!!

    Yes.

Strangely, nobody here ever seems to think that if Trump is hiring treasonous commie pinko backstabbers over and over again, maybe that's a sign he's a crap manager.

Tillerson... life long Republican who ran Exxon very well. Good family man, Eagle Scout. Born the same year as me and he's done very well the American Way. Hard to find much fault in the man for being a Capitalist businessman and Corporate leader.

Um....... Trump Chief of Staff Kelly called Tillerson last week while Tillerson was out of the country representing the US.
They agreed to wait until Tillerson was back in the US before making the announcement.
Tillerson got back today..... Hence the announcement today.

Trump and Tillerson were not on the same page with a couple of the big policy issues. Trump is the "boss". There was no surprise here.

Trump wants his team set before the meeting with the Nork's.

Pompeo will be a great Secretary of State.

I just don't see this as a big deal.

If you want unicorns and rainbow's and the US continuing to get our pockets picked we need BHO, Hillary and Kerry back.

Some if you people have no sense of how the real world of business works.

Agree, about the only thing working against Rex is that he has been a powerful business head and "IN CHARGE" for a very long time. When you have been the BOSS and your word was law, it is difficult to be a soldier.

Thus will be the case for many of Trumps businessman selections. All are used to bring in charge. Some can not serve as subordinates.

Why would you hire (just a year ago) a guy who wasn't on the same page? How can someone new you JUST hired and who may not even be senate-confirmed yet be part of having 'your team set'?

If Tillerson wasn't he guy who could do the job, why was he ever there?

At some point, even if you accept that all these people getting fired are losers, Trump needs to take responsibility for putting and keeping the losers in office in the first place.

I think Pompeo is a fine choice for SecState, probably better than Tillerson ever was, btw. Money spent at State keeps us from having to spend more on bullets... and Pompeo seems likely to run an active State Dept., as opposed to Tillerson, who seemed determined to get the Dept. down to a couple dozen employees, about enough to staff a 24-hour Burger King.

What if he was quietly fired last week, with the public announcement postponed until this week?
Would you have enough class to apologize?

Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, sinks like a rock.......
Seriously, what people project and what people say are not always what they really are.
As well, I imagine that over the course of a year some issues would have arisen where there was a difference of opinion. Both are powerful businessmen used to getting their way.
As a subordinate Rex would need to yield to the President or leave.

I surmise that with all of the Dem resistance and the perpetual bureaucracy ( deep state) getting in the way, Trump's tolerance for folks who do not fully buy-in to his agenda and priorities may be short.

None of this makes Rex a bad guy. I thought he was a good choice. I would have liked that he stayed in position, but am not busted up over the change.
Pretty normal in business. Maybe not so normal in politics.
