It was a 13" CRT that I bought used a decade ago, and my wife and I hadn't turned it on in nearly two years.

Who else lives without a TV? :wavey:

I threw out my MIL's 19" CRT about two weeks ago. It was replaced w/ a 32" LCD.

Sad to admit, I'd miss it. I like my educational television channels. (I guess a subscription to NatGeo & PopSci magazines would be much cheaper, eh?)

I'm a few months away from 55 and I've never owned a TV, never paid a cable bill.

I will admit to watching TV when in a hotel room, which is a large part of my life, but even so I spend much more time reading, studying, and surfing the 'net than watching the idiot-box.
I have far better ways to spend my time.

    Threw it out?

    You're doing it wrong!

You're supposed to take it out back and shoot it a couple of times with a large caliber something or others.

Why waste a good target? Reactive ones are the best!

You should have seen Execution Day when the 32" Sony CRT finally went bad. No blindfold, no priest reading from the last TV Guide, no call from the Governor. It was pretty brutal. .44Mag Marlin Leveraction. I have vid somewhere.

The Sentence of the Court must be carried out.

I'm a lazy SOB and cleanup on a .300WSM'd TV would be a pain.

Nope. We have a couple TVs. Only use one. Antenna, have never paid cable, other. I need a new tower as I only get a couple stations/sometimes lose news during broadcast.
You can control it or let it control you. (like most everything else. )

I have a 42 inch plasma, but I don't watch cable just movies. If I do ever watch cable it's because I'm at a friends house and they have it on.

We have a Samsung 55" LCD. Direct TV. Tonight I watched a Coral Reef in far Northwest Hawaii. A used Jack Palance Saddle up for sale, A little news sans Politics. A little military stuff and other interesting things to me.

Don't care if one wants a TV or not!

Isn't any of my business. But usually I can travel the world, watch the Ball Games. Best seat in the house all the time. Specially when all those Yahoos are fighting beer baths, crowds, rowdy people. My restroom and snack bar is just around the corner.

I have a total comfort Recliner with heat and vibration. Why the hell would I want to have to sit in the scorching sun or a blizzard?

I don't/can't read books as my eyes don't do well any more. I have TV Ears to play as loud or soft as I like. I can travel into space or the deepest canyons. Watch anything that pleases me.
Haven't put up with movie house racket and filth in decades.

There is a wealth of information being presented every day. Because a lot of people watch trash TV doesn't mean everyone does.

We really like our TV and programs. But we draw the line at most serial programs, Blood and Guts, Mindless NYC/West coast Comedies. Sex shows and filthy mouthed Comedies.

To each their own, I guess.:wavey:

Well, there is a TV in the gym, but all it's hooked up to is a DVD player. The wife uses it for p90x.

Floyd said it best, "13 channels of s**t on the TV to choose from." Only now it's inflated to 1300.

Live life for yourself, not vicariously.

Unless it's my vids. Watch me do cool stuff. I need an audience to tell me just how awesome I am.

And how much I need to learn to edit.

We have one tv, but no antennae, and and no cable, therefore no reception. It gets used for one hour per day by the kids, to watch DVDs, and by me and Mr.C, to watch UFC fights (Netflixed by mail). I think I watched it once last week.

I've not had cable or antenna for about 16 years now. Still have a TV and a whole bunch of movies, though. Never really missed the on-air stuff and every time I get near a TV showing a commercial I remember why I'm happy I don't get that stuff.
