    Three NYPD officers hospitalized .jpg

"The PBA said the officers were eating at a Shake Shack restaurant in Manhattan when they discovered that someone had added a toxic substance to their milkshakes, possibly bleach. They had been assigned to a protest detail in the area.

"The contamination was not discovered until the [police officers] had already ingested a portion of their beverages," the statement read.

Another report in Law Enforcement Today said the officers were experiencing stomach problems when they noticed the contamination.

The officers sought treatment at a hospital. The PBA said they are expected to recover."

    Bad, but not necessarily intentional...

When I worked at the campus cafeteria, the cleaning procedure for many of the dispensers involved bleach, and then a rinse...
There was more than one instance where a boob forgot the rinse.

Sure, it just "happened" to get into the milkshakes for the police officers.

Shut down the chain and investigate every employee and every owner in every franchise. Should take another 6 months.

It was an accident. The bleach jug looked like a milk jug.

And everybody else's, which you wouldn't hear about in a propaganda piece because it doesn't fit the narrative.

A restaurant should not have bleach in the building at all. I know at Texas roadhouse bringing it in to the building will get you canned. Ecolab and the other companies make several different cleaners that are safe and work better in every way.

Hardly. If anyone else were "accidentally" poisoned here, it would certainly be part of the story. The store would have published this immediately to try to take the heat off the apparent criminal activity that just took place there.

The article says they got the shakes at 8:30 pm. I don't know, having never worked in the restaurant biz - is the cleaning solution the drinks were contaminated with normally run through the machines mid-shift? As a techie-type, that would seem to me to be more an end-of-day cleaning/shut down thing rather than something done during what I'd consider to be the tail end of dinner time for people. It still seems fishy to me...

Funny. You win the Internet today if you think this was a cleaning accident...

If no one else reported getting sick, I highly doubt that it was an accident.

No, it wouldn't be part of the story. That's how media bias works.
