I was gonna say.. SWEET pgg00
I still have that front sight in my stash somewhere..
Mine I swapped out with a set of Trijicons..
It's crazy how they routed the wires thru the pistol & filled it back in with epoxy, Like I said, State of the Art back in the day
Bet you're neighbor would still have the G19..
To the OP The only night sights I have ever bought where Trijicon & Meprolite, there weren't any others back in the day.
"Back in the Day" was before the Internet for you young ins..
The Ameriglo Agents seem to really draw the eye to the front sight just like the fiber optics do.. I might try a set myself on my G26..
The Ameriglo's I gave a link too seem to be New Old Stock from Optics Planet?? How Old Are They??
4:00am & I'm up, My Son & Twin Brother are coming bye @ 6:00am.. Coffee pot is on & smelling just fine..
I'll hear that 2nd Gen Camaro screaming up the road before too long..
I have no advice, but I'm going to give it to you anyway.
Do you have the same fingerprints as your neighbor? No?
Well, you don't have the same vision and don't see things the same as anyone else either.
Although you have the same basic equipment as everyone else, yours is a unique experiment of one with the same basic gear.
The lens of your eye is unique to you, so is your retina, and so are all your rods and cones, color vision varies greatly among the population. Did you know that the computer screen you are looking at is projected upside down on the retina and that your brain converts the orientation? There are certain people who don't have that ability and see everything upside down.
So for someone to say certain sights are no good is pretty funny to me.
What I would ask is:
What is the problem with the standard sights that most people seem to use? What relief are you expecting?
I have aging eyes and the front dot has become difficult to focus on. So I went to a red dot, which has eliminated that problem. Unfortunately, sitting in front of a computer screen and becoming addicted to one of those smart phones has resulted in occasional double vision when trying to focus on distant objects so target focus isn't all it's cracked up to be "for me".
I am transitioning from a red dot to back to irons with a colorful front and a simple rear and for but nothing is set in stone at this point. It may be that I will have to resort to shooting with one eye closed and working on my point shooting.
Whatever you find that works for you is fine, they seem to sell enough of those sights to keep them in production, but I never see any guns so equipped at the range and I tend to agree with the idea the aperture is too far from the eye. But it might not be too far from your eye. How the heck would I know?
This are great.
Dawson has great options also
I love these as well. Both front and rear site
I shot a pistol that had them installed. Not bad, but just not my thing on a handgun, although I have something very similar on a shotgun I use for turkey hunting.
I have never seen any sights like those in person.
I do like the Glock Night Sights, but prefer AmeriGlo sights. MY EYES pick up that yellow front sight ring better than any other color for a front sight.
That will be somthen you will have to sorta work out on your own. Some folks like White, some Yellow, some Orange, some like Fiber-optic sights. That will take you and you alone to figure out.
Hope ya find some that work for you.
There is a memory...I remember them!...you are right, they were a "thing"
Always keep in mind, most of the "experts" who are pushing something have a stake in it someway, somehow.
I like that as well. Eyes going alil bad so I might have to check those out as well.
What are these called? Is this your carry gun?
I have them on my 17 and 26. With my old eyes and bifocals, they're great.
You should see the porting they did on that gun.
CQB-SRS. This is a carry gun.
It should be mine.. OH YES!! HaHa!!
The Arotek G19 I had only had the laser & a fiber optic front sight + extended controls & the finish was factory..
No porting & factory rear sight..
