3 v 1 in a fight unarmed is a loser, even if you have mad skills. Even if armed, you present & shoot, better be able to articulate the threat. Once attacked, its a clearer choice, but this scenario just sucks either way.

1. He got away with his car and his life and he doesn't appear to have been beaten too badly. I am going to call that one to win.

Having said that. I really don't think there's a great way out of that one. Maybe a bear fogger
awful situation to be in, no doubt….

Having said that, at that stage your intuition tells you that something is going down and fight or flight has been turned on. The last thing you want to be doing is backpedaling and fighting from your heels. He should’ve struck first and centered his attack on the thug nearest him, that could’ve bought him some time to either run forward to try and escape or minimize their numbers by 1.

There was no way in hell that situation was deescalating and his best defense was a chance at an offense. By changing his footwork to an advancing position he could have bettered his chances at an escape or inflicting his own damage and maybe scaring them off. They are in full blown pack mentality. Backpedaling like he was will usually results in ending up on your back. “Press the action”
