Well, I've got a few projects this week and thought I'd share some of them with my friends here on GT

First up is my '07 Ultra. The tranny started making a little racket and causing the bike to buck in second gear. Come to find out, the retaining nut had worked itself loose causing the retaining rings to come off the main shaft. Those rings were chewed up by the gears and ended up ruining the bearings. The fluid was full of shavings, so I knew I was in trouble.

Its getting a new retaining nut, retaining rings, all new bearings throughout the tranny and a new clutch hub. Amazingly, all the gears are in great shape with no signs of wear or damage. It should be good as new by Friday night or first part of next week

Next up is the '09 Stratoliner.

It's getting a new Baron's BAK, PCIII USB, tune, Phat Crash Bars, LAVA engine lights, radio and speakers, and a recovered seat in alligator and fresh leather on the sides

Thanks. I'll keep the post updated as we move along.

The Strat should be all buttoned up by Friday night. I'm really looking forward to the test ride after all the performance mods are done. This thing should tote the mail when it's complete

My Father-in-Law's face lights up like a kid at christmas when someone (or he) mentions anything about his 1900cc Roadliner and he's been riding 70+ years.

    Those Yamahas sure are something.

Nice Handy lift. I got mine as a present to myself when I moved into a house with a garage. When I was renting, was no fun lying in gravel, losing nuts and bolts if dropped (even tools sometimes seem to disappear in the stones). Needed something? Back into the the elevator up and down.

nowadays, I've sold my lift, after realizing how much easier it is just to pay my buddies (racers and mechanics) $50-100/hr, when they're happy to help for just beer/whiskey.

    Nice pics!

I have to pull the transmission on my bike this weekend too. 6th gear is screwed. You are lucky in how easy it is on that bike, on my GSX-R I have to pull the entire motor out and then crack open the full case in order to get to it. PITA!

The tranny in the Ultra has been repaired. The bike is now tore down for paint. No more boring black, time for a custom mix!

Here's the first look at the new paint. All these pics are of the same fender with the same paint on it, just taken in different lights

These pics show the base color and one coat of red pearl with no clear coat. The final product will get 2 coats of red pearl over the base color and 7 coats of clear. It should look fantastic!
