You can't get here from there!
    Local news:

Methodist Hospital transfered all their children and infants to Riley Hospital for Children so they can free up rooms for covid19 patients.

Our friend Jai passed tonight at about 7:00 PM. His wife survived and is back home recovering.

I feel like I'm standing on the seashore watching the ocean recede, knowing there is a tsunami coming, and helpless to do anything.

    God bless all of you.

    Regards,
    Happyguy :)

The Feds need to step in and declare that all medical staff dealing with the public have authorization to wear mask where ever the deem appropriate.

Neighbor of ours works in a pharmacy and was told by management to NOT wear masks because it will "scare the public".

She works for a large corporate health company that owns many hospitals and clinics.

The best case scenario of 100k-200k death is a big number. To get 150k we need 484 deaths per million. italy’s death rate right now is 218 per million. So our best case is to be over twice as bad as Italy is now?

We are at 15 per million now so that rate is expected to go up 3000%? I am not a Dr, specialist, scientist but please find some better options.

Damn that's really tough. Misery loves company, look over to the right of you, there I am on the beach as well. However, someday this sh** will be over. This year will never ever be normal, we'll just have to deal with it day by day and be as positive as we can and be strong as a group here at GT. Virtual yes, but I for one find that posting here has been a tremendous help mentally.

Someone who already is close to death from an unrelated health issue can't contract COVID-19? Saying everyone dead person who tested positive must have died from from the virus seems misleading at best.

Treasure the life you have and Trust the Almighty... Everything is going to be fine.

Your statement reminds me of the scene in Deep Impact with Teo Leoni. We're small, in the scheme of things. So we need to trust him.

Be Strong for the ones still here.

The CDC says you need a minimum of 60% alcohol to kill the virus. That link says 2 parts rubbing alcohol to 1 part water. They likely meant 91% rubbing alcohol, at a 2 to 1 ratio that would make around 60% alcohol solution. Personally I'd go with the CDC/WHO recommendations over random claims on the internet.

It’s an Israeli M15 gas mask, same one issued to the Israeli military. I have the same one. It’s CBRN rated. You can still find them out there, mostly on Ebay. They are surplus but new. (most of them) They are considered surplus because they are “expired” meaning they were manufactured in the 90s or early 2000s. The masks themselves if advertised as new are in pristine condition. The filters (Israeli Type 80 filters) are also “expired”.

The mask itself and its rubber components that I own is in new condition and seals perfectly. No reason to think you can’t use this mask until doomsday. The filters themselves are considered expired but lots of people consider these perfectly usable and that expiration dates are similar to expiration dates on food. Still perfectly usable, even past the expiration date. The filters use activated charcoal which is thought to break down over time and thus become less effective. If these expired Israeli Type 80 canisters give you pause, you can buy any standard 40mm NATO cartridge and use it with your Israeli mask.

If anyone has any questions about gas masks, PM me. I’ve become quite the expert in the last couple of months. I go to the grocery store every single time wearing my masks and have been for the last month. I got a few weird looks initially but now no one gives me a second look.

Edit: Ooops, looks like ExecutiveWill already replied.
