I have 2 1/2 year old boy who takes off his training pants and hurls the "contents" on the walls. I try to clean up as much as I can, but if you don't get it within 5 minutes, it turns into cement, and is impossible to get off. I've tried scrubbing with a brush, with all kinds of soaps and detergents, even bleach. Nothing works. Is there any kind of heavy duty chemicals that can break this stuff down?

Potty training. I'm at the end of my rope! He just doesn't seem to understand that it goes in the potty. I've tried everything I can think of. Treats, schedules, songs.... Nothing seems to work. This has been going on fore awhile now, and we need to get through this phase.

ANY advice is appreciated, especially with the clean up.

Simple green works for the poop on the walls. Be sure and spray with lysol afterwards to sanitize the area.

    Freud would love this thread.

I can't help you out too much, as I don't have kids. I will have to check back on this though, as it seems to be a fairly common problem. Have you asked your pediatrician?

Simple green works wonders getting poop out of bedsheets, latex body suits and rented clown costumes as well.

    Don't ask... :whistling:

Can't really help with the clean-up aspect, but I had a very stubborn 2 year old little girl who didn't take to potty training very well. We tried all kinds of bribes and incentives. Finally, it came down to punishment. We started taking her toys away, one at a time, until she complied. She was potty trained in 3 days..... after she had lost almost all of her toys. Don't yell, be calm and speak in a reasoning tone. Hope that it works for you should you decide to go this route.

May the Force be with you!!!

Others have covered the cleaning bit already.

As a father of 4 kids I can say you are trying too hard. Kids will get potty trained when they are ready. Fighting with them and trying to force them to use the toilet doesn't work. My first 2 didn't potty train until they were about 3 1/2. The next two went a bit earlier because they saw every one else using the potty. Put him back in diapers and stop fighting him. Because at this point it is obvious he is winning the battle of wits.

    Deadbeat Dads...jerks...
    But happy stressfree jerks. :whistling:

ETA...kind of like Vafish said about his younger 2 learning faster seeing everyone else do it....don't be shy or feel weird about having your kid in the bathroom with you so he can see how it's done. My son is only 1 and a half, but I bring him in all the time cuz I HATE DIAPERS and I figure every little bit will help.

:rofl: Sorry, just picturing the above scenario.

I have soon to be 4 and 5 year olds. Both ours were trained right around 2. We've been officially diaper free (including nights) for about a year and a half now...glad to be done with that stage. Just stick with it. One day it will 'click' in their brain.

My little boy used to B.M on the neighbors floor all the time. Doc told us to let him alone and he will grow out of it in time. Doc was right, the kid stopped when he was twelve.

All I can say is hang in there. I have one about that age and he just all of a sudden got it. Not an accident in months now.

Saves me a ton in pull-ups.

Thanks, but I've tried that. He just gets up and starts grabbing everything in the bathroom, and there I am, stuck with my pants down!

Is he eating it as well? Sounds like a problem.

You could take him to a child psychologist. If that doesn't work, glue some fur on him and sell him to a zoo.
