The New York Times on Thursday covered U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jim Hickman’s explosive allegations against Democrat “star witness” Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman by casting aspersions on Hickman’s character.

Last week, Hickman divulged on Twitter that Vindman “really talked up” President Barack Obama and ridiculed America and Americans in front of Russian military officers when Hickman worked with him in Grafenwoher, Germany in 2013. Hickman said that he “verbally reprimanded” then-Major Vindman after he heard some of his derisive remarks for himself. “Do not let the uniform fool you,” Hickman wrote. “He is a political activist in uniform.”

Looks like he came out of mommy's basement to pose for pictures. I don't feel any safer seeing him in uniform.

Not a very impressive set of decorations on his uniform. Most impressive are the CIB and purple heart, but neither of them required him to do anything except be somewhere that something blew up or shots were fired - in his case, it looks like they both likely came from being somewhere in the vicinity of an IED in Iraq.

Having a CIB and purple heart are not small things, but what puts me off is the lack of any kind of award you'd expect an officer to have after a tour in which he got a CIB and purple heart, like a Bronze Star. He has 9 awards earned through merit (Defense Meritorious Service Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters (4th award), Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters (3rd award)) and those are the kind of medals officers get for doing a good job in some administrative staff position in the U.S.

Interesting that multiple people involved in this were born in the USSR.

Might not mean anything but certainly bears further consideration.

I think Vindman needs the boot from the service.

The line is that the White House told him not to testify. Whether it came from Pence or Mulvaney, if it was what Trump wanted, his decision to testify is direct disobedience of a lawful order given by the Commander in Chief. He needs to either resign or face punishment under the UCMJ.

Who should give a flying fart what someone low on the food chain of the National Security team at the White House says? He says he thinks some things Trump said were "improper". Vindman, it's not your place to make that call, STFU you arrogant poser. Vindman makes me want to puke. Don

It's odd how Rosenstein, Strzok and the rest of the conspirators managed to stay in their positions for so long after their felonies had been exposed. Now Vindman.

Maybe it's not bone spurs, but nut spurs.

    He is a seditious traitor.
Some think he is a great guy. They probably don’t know the info from Hickman.
Any good officer would not be involved in this coup.

What happens to officers who are disloyal to their commanding staff, in this case CIC? Even if they didn’t do anything that would draw a criminal charge?

There's kind of a Ukraine/Russia/USSR undercurrent here that makes me curious. I have often said the Democrats are only mad at the Russians because they gave up on communism.

They don't normally offer that job to loyal American officers who aren't Soviet-born Obamamites.

I was trying to explain to some family members getting a purple heart doesn't mean what they think without demeaning it's importance and they just didn't get it. You can be a drummer in a military band your whole career and have a chest full of ribbons but they are not the same ones a combat veteran wears.

The born in Russian thing also caught my attention. Guess it's because of their language skills but I would be wary of placing him in the W.H. let alone any other important job. Recently there was a Chinese American officer nailed for disclosing military information and we don't want to forget what Major Hassan did down in TX.

This guy is a relevant, compelling witness to anything? I'm sure any east Europe government would love to deal with him!

He wasn't born in Russia, but he was born in the USSR, the Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine.
Also born in Ukraine were Leon Trotsky, Leonid Brezhnev, Golda Meir, and Mila Kunis.
