Somehow this person obtained a not so old important password of mine and tried to extort bitcoins from me,,, Any thoughts? How concerned should I be...read below what he sent. And,,,no,,, there is no porno and video for him to send out,,, How he got my password is my concern.

  • im aware, *******, is your pass word.

I require your 100% attention for the up coming Twenty-four hours, or I will make sure you that you live out of shame for the rest of your life span.

Hello there, you don't know me personally. However I know every thing regarding you. Your current fb contact list, phone contacts along with all the virtual activity on your computer from previous 178 days.

And this includes, your self pleasure video footage, which brings me to the main motive why I 'm writing this specific email to you.

Well the previous time you went to the adult porn webpages, my malware was triggered in your computer which ended up recording a eye-catching footage of your self pleasure act by triggering your webcam.
(you got a exceptionally odd preference by the way lol)

I own the whole recording. If, perhaps you feel I am fooling around, simply reply proof and I will be forwarding the particular recording randomly to 5 people you're friends with.

It may be your friends, co workers, boss, parents (I don't know! My software will randomly select the contact details).

Would you be able to look into anyone's eyes again after it? I question it...

But, doesn't necessarily need to be that way.

I want to make you a 1 time, non negotiable offer.

Get $ 2000 in bitcoin and send it on the down below address:

    1LHa*prdJK38fKWw5NpTTqwFBQ1eRbz3WrL
[CASE SENSITIVE so copy & paste it, and remove * from it]

(If you don't understand how, look online how to acquire bitcoin. Do not waste my important time)

If you send this particular 'donation' (we will call this that?). After that, I will go away for good and never ever contact you again. I will eliminate everything I have got in relation to you. You may very well proceed living your ordinary day to day lifestyle with zero fear.

You have 24 hours to do so. Your time begins as quickly you read this e-mail. I have got an unique program code that will notify me as soon as you go through this email so don't attempt to play smart.

Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I would like both proof and a copy of said footage as I've been trying to get my webcam to work for some time with no luck. A prominent adult domain recently hired me to make appearances on their site but I couldn't get the camera to turn on.

You can keep the password to my AOL account.

Sincerely,
Joe Exotica

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago about it. My password and somebody else also said they were old passwords, probably hacked from a gun board from years ago.

Are you sure it is a fairly recent password? I have a password I have been using for all account I do not care about for years. Bank accounts are about the only thing that get a good password.

The main thing to keep in mind is google likely has your passwords stored unless you turned that off.

Do a Google search for “Sextortion” scam for all their lies and tricks.
It’s all BS.
They got nada except an old password
I’ve got about 6 of those emails over a two week period.

If you haven’t been whacking it to porn I wouldn’t worry too much. Just a fishing expedition. Let’s face it, if they send this message to 100 men probably 80 of them would probably worry.....lmao

Just reply “How about you trade me my self pleasure video for the one I made with your mom and that goat?”.

My wife received the same thing verbatim. I told her I was pissed because she has not let me see the video.

The other one that is getting old is the new car warranty is about to expire. They hang up when you ask them which car?

I got the email and ignored it, nothing happened.

It was an old, overused password and gave me a reason to change a bunch of passwords.

I got one of those about a month ago. Total BS.
Here’s another I got a week ago. I’m getting 44 mil from someone. That will buy a lot of bitcoin.
The word Diskette was a dead give away. This must have been written 20 years ago.

transaction of yours calculated of $44.6m to your designated bank account within 3
official day.

I use unique passwords and keep a record of old ones. I recently started getting these and the password was one I was used several years ago to order some maps from the National Geographic of all places. That password was changed years ago, likely after I got an email from them mentioning they had a security breach but I cannot remember.

Bottom line is use a unique password at all sites that could cause a problem if you get hacked. Which it sounds like you are already doing.

They probably got your password after someone hacked into that site. and later sold the list of email addresses and passwords. Smaller websites and forums that lack the resources to keep their software up to date are particularly vulnerable but but it happens to larger sites too.

What site did you use the compromised password at?
