Yes it is an option. If I believed they were good for running the country. I don't think either candidates are right for it. So they don't get my vote. If for 2016 either the Reps. or Dems can provide a candidate I like, that person will have my vote. If it's someone from a different party or and Independent, then that person will have my vote.

For the last few decades, every administration has screwed something up. The next administration never goes back and fixes it and they screw up too. Im not happy about that. So now I vote based on candidate and not party.

I believe that if we keep voting to support a party rather than looking at the candidates and their values, this country is just gonna continue to go downhill. Simply prolonging it(Romney) is not an option to me.

No I do not believe Biden and Ryan is the same. But I also like neither.

Nope, I refuse to betray my values. Neither of the nimrods up for election are in line enough with my values and views to warrant my defection from self value and virtue. So the spot for President would receive no mark from me... IF I were not allowed a third option, including penciling in my own choice.

If I were forced to vote and forced to vote between Romney or Obama, I'd vote for Romney.

Hopefully this isn't the formation of the most boring argument ever.

That's a fallacy. Gary Johnson is a third choice.

If voting for Johnson splits the vote, then it will ensure Obama a 2nd term. Now that's the kind of bait and switch Democrats like.

Democrats are the problem and the threat to our RKBA. The responsible gun owning voter wants to get rid of them first.

I think liberals are the threat to our RKBA. The fact that they're wearing a red or blue jersey seems really arbitrary to me. Romney is a liberal who has supported tough gun laws (according to him) and he is and has been a threat to our RKBA.

Why must it be the lesser of two evils? It's this silly lock step mind set that prevents this nation from actually moving forward and voting in incumbents that really want to do the right thing and that are not part of the system.

I am sorry but Romney and Obama both are puppets. They don't heed the bidding of the American citizens, but the bidding of corporations and bankers. The third party folks... THEY are not bought and paid for.

Now let's look at how well the puppets have done... why not take a chance and change the game field and vote third party. It can't be any worse than what we have now and what we are about to get.

What makes you think that sensible Democrats aren't sick and tired of the Leftists and wouldn't vote for Gary Johnson?

That's a stupid assumption. There are alternative choices on the ballot box.

    Are you serious??
If you that think a vote for anyone else or no vote at all is a vote for Obama, and that we gave him his second term, then you guys are seriously ignoring the real problem. Not to mention extremely ignorant. Out of all the Republican candidates, the Republican voters picked Mitt Romney! THAT my friend right there is YOUR problem. You picked a fool that never had a chance and now you want to blame us!?

It's the herd mentality. They see it as two big herds and are afraid if their herd doesn't win the other will. It's safer in a herd and they know unfriendly herds are dangerous. They don't care so much that the herd no longer serves their interest, the other herd seems too great a threat.

Ron Paul has been in Congress for over 23 years. While he has voted mostly pro-2A he has not written or initiated even one pro-2A bill. As Gov of NM for 8 years, Ron Johnson didn’t either. Gun owners had to wait till Johnson left office just to get CCW. Right now, gun-owners feel we cannot depend on Libertarians for practical recourse and relief from oppressive gun control.

For gun owners - the problem is liberal anti-2A Democrats - predominantly Obama and the Democrat leadership in congress. The threat to our RKBA is always initiated and lead by the Democrats who are proudly, and aggressively, anti-2A.

If we get any recourse and relief from gun control it is always lead by the Republicans. The Republican platform, leadership and base, and Romney, have only become more pro-2A. In this respect, gun owners do not define the Republicans as becoming more socialist, anti-2A or like Obama.

So how is it good for gun owners to vote third party for a man, we know little about, who cannot win even one state, to split the vote and allow the Democrats to win? How is getting revenge on the Republicans for not nominating Ron Paul a superior judgment over helping Obama get a 2nd term?

If we want to advance the Libertarian cause wouldn’t it make more sense to get more of them elected to governorships and state and federal congress before shooting for the Presidency? It’s obvious, the 2 parties got there that way and built a foundation of support in the public and congress. But the Libertarian party hasn't.

Expecting immediate Presidential success or party parity shows an abysmal lack of planning and strategy. Demanding success and parity show an abysmal lack of political maturity. Calling for gun owners to seek symbolic revenge is just suicidal. It sends no constructive message whatsoever, other than some folks are willing to be politically self destructive for no purpose.

Getting rid of the Democrats is the priority right now as far as gun owners and conservatives are concerned. Once Republicans hold the majority than there can be a strategy to successfully move the party more conservative. From looking at the prominent speakers at the convention, and especially the up and comers, I think there are groups moving in that direction already. And that’s mostly due to the successful strategies of the conservatives and Tea Party .

Ron and Rand Paul are trying to move the Republicans in that direction and that’s why they didn’t run as Libertarians. If Libertarians were honest about helping the RKBA they would be helping Romney beat Obama rather than ensuring Obama gets a 2nd term.

While some of what you say is true, the bottom line is that Romney is just as much of a threat as Obama! Its fact. His history is proof.
And while we sit here and bicker about this we forget that the REAL threat to the 2A is all these loonies going out in shooting sprees. That is the real threat.
And if we don't find a solution to the cause of their mentality, the 2A is ALWAYS going to be at risk one way or another.

    On a side note;
I firmly believe that RP would have been a much bigger threat to Obama than Romney ever would have been.
Republicans would have backed him. That much is a given. Libertarians would have backed him. Many Independants would have backed him. And many Dems would have backed him.

All Romney has is a majority of the Republican vote.
    Same goes for Obama.

True. Considering Romney is polling remotely close to Obama indicates most republican voters will support anyone with an R beside their name. I really don't see any default Romney supporters going third party if RP had received the nomination.

Romney record, or history, as Gov of MA clearly shows he has only reduced gun control, removed anti-2A from bills or signed pro-2A bills. I've already posted, on this thread, links to all the bills and laws proving Romney's record in MA - go ahead and show us where it documents your allegations.

Obama supporters have already posted the few statements that Romney made to shmooze the anti-2A democrat congress and gun control crowd and the quotes from the liberal media misrepresenting the facts of Romney's record.

It doesn't change Romney's actual entire record. In fact, it demonstrates that when it was politically expedient for Romney to maintain or make more gun control he always did the opposite.

GW Bush is also often categorized as a threat to the RKBA for making essentially the same statements as Romney. We know he was pro-2A by his record - he appointed two pro-RKBA Justices to the Supreme Court giving us the majority to win Heller and McDonald, the AWB was allowed to expire and much pro-RKBA legislation progress was made during his administration.

Romney is not "the same as Obama", the "lesser of evils" or "Obama-lite". In 2008 he was rated "B" by the NRA and Obama was rated "F". Since then, Romney has only become more pro-2A and Obama more anti-2A. Romney would be a much better President for gun-owners than Obama.

It's up to individual gun-owners to to get the facts and make sure we're not scammed into giving Obama another term.

Plain and simply...if the Supreme Court overturns the 2nd Amendment, something they have ZERO right to do, because their very creator, the founding fathers, made it VERY CLEAR, not only in the 2nd Amendment, but in MANY well documented quotes, that they fully intended the American citizen retain the right to keep and bear arms. They saw it as a right as well as an advantage.....if the Supreme Court thinks they are above that then they will lose all acknowledgement of authority from anyone who considers themselves a Constitutional American...including myself. They will be only recognized as a panel of bumbling idiots in a pretty white courthouse in a faraway land that used to have some semblance, but has completely nullified itself by over reach of the very law they swore to uphold.

Ya think people across the nation are buying up millions of dollars worth of guns and ammo per month to "turn them all in" if the Supreme Court violates the Constitution and shoots down the 2nd Amendment to the BILL OF RIGHTS? Here's a hint: WRONG!

He's on the menu, but no matter how you order it, it ain't coming out.

There are only two meals in this restaurant. You can order one or the other. If you order anyting else, you will not be able to eat.

Then why are you people keep crying and whining after every election? You deserve what you voted for.
