Sad part is, if he was a pos felon and got himself shot by police, he’d get more money, what a glorious society we live in.

Dad did the exact right thing, and he is getting screwed over for doing that, and that ain’t right. I hope that he had health insurance to help cover the surgery.

But no one ever said that life is fair. I suspect that after he recovers from his surgery that he will find another job pretty quickly.

Now it's time for everyone to boycott both of the businesses he worked for.

Why is it worded like this?:
Anthony Jefferson, 39, visited the used-car business on Boston Road in Eastchester around 7:30 p.m. Monday to look for a car to surprise the mother of his kids, Danica Jefferson, on her upcoming birthday.

Same last name and he is buying her a car, I don't think he would do that for an ex-wife. Both of these said it was for his wife:

    Seems weird to me.

He'll be OK. There is a GoFundMe set up for him with a goal of $24,000. It's at $178,000 now.

I don't know how something like this could happen. NYC has some of the most stringent gun laws in the U.S.

The majority of construction painters are small time companies that don't offer health insurance let alone short/long term disability so if he's not working he's not an employee anymore. The good news is he can very likely hire right back on when he can work again.

I don't see how this surprises so many people. With most companies if you are unable to work, no matter if it is due to illness or something tragic, you no longer draw a check. If you work for a company that offers disability insurance as part of their benefits package you will receive at least some help until that expires.

If you work for a small company such as a painter in the construction industry you likely need to seek your own coverage. Most of those companies are a crew with 3 or 4 guys. They are not in a position to just keep someone on the payroll when they aren't working. They aren't offering much of anything, some are even 10-99 jobs.

So, it isn't a case of "he got injured while protecting his kids, fire him!" kind of deal like the OP wants us to believe.

Why is click-bait so popular? Shame on OP for spinning things. Also, good on that man for being a great father, and I hope he uses the money from his GFM wisely.

The OP just quoted the article and even said something doesn’t seem right. He’s not spinning anything. So there should be no shame on him.

Ya, that'll solve it! Boycott the companies so they lose business and lay off/fire more workers. Think things through a bit before acting...
