I was talking to a guy a while back and he had ape hangers on his Harley. He told me that in some places it's illegal to have your handle bars beyond a certain height, so he has his bars loose on the handlebar mount, so when he gets to a place he knows he will get in trouble he will pull the bars down. That's got to dangerous as hell right:alex::faint:

They make adjustable bars for people who need to change the rise or pullback on the fly.

They also make stupid people. I think you spoke to a guy a while back who was one.

In IL it's illegal for the handlebars to be above shoulder level. Now being 6'4" I could easily have "mini-apes" on a bike and still be legal while a shorter person would be in violation with the same bars.

I don't find apes to be comfortable at all, I don't get how people can ride with their arms way over their head.
