anyone else gonna be there and do i need be a GSSF member to play the games?
Yes, you need to be a member to play the game, but it's worth the $25.00 annual mambership fee. Several GT'ers, regulars in this GSSF Forum will be there. Team Sidearmor will have an Am/Civ Team and a Stockmeister Team at Shreveport. If you need any assistance, just look around for the lady and men in grey Sidearmor golf shirts.
thanks Danny ill look forward to it
Sure will. the Northwest Florida gang has already paid entry fee and made Hotel reservations. Will be arriving Friday afternoon and departing Sunday morning. Might even drag along a south central Florida "Gentleman" so you will see many of the Grey Team Sidearmor shirts.
got another ? whats the two approved ways of transporting firearm from one stage to the next? is an OWB approved? as you can tell i will be totaly green when it comes to competition.;Q
In a gun bag or rug and in a holster with the slide back.
I was in your shoes this past Saturday when I attended my first GSSF outdoor match.
Some tips from one newbie to another:
-Bring a small, portable, lightweight collapsible chair. Very important! I had not known about this crucial item when I went. ;f
-Bring at least 100 extra rounds for warming up on the plates. That way, you do not have to shoot the match completely "cold".
-If you go in the early morning, you may want to bring a sweater or a light jacket. I am not sure what the weather is like down there.
I plan to be there. Hope to see everyone there also.
Debra and I will be there, having 4 magazines is nice to have but not needed. I agree with the chairs, I bought a yard cart to bring to the matches to carry my stuff in.
ill be working in monroe so ill for sure be there, hope to meet some of you guys in real life. another question while i got yalls attention again. you guys just shoot plain jane fmj? like i could just bring a few boxes of value pak win 115gr. fmj? whats the poplar way to trans port weapon from station to station i dont want to be "that guy" lol
If you are not a reloader then the 115gr Winchester Value Packs from Walley World is great. As far as transporting your gun from stage to stage the 2 most used was are: (1) in a shooting bag, (2) in a holster with the slide locked back. I use a shooting bag because then I have room in it to also carry spare mags, ammo, mosquito repellant, a small towel and any other item I think I will need. The chair is a great item, I use one of the fold up canvas camping chairs from Walley World. The range at Shreveport has all the stages close together so that its no problem just carrying your bag and chair from stage to stage.
Look for the folks in the Grey Golf Shirts and White Hats from "Team Sidearmor" and be sure to say "Hi".
I use to live in Monroe, where do you work may I ask?
Yep, I'll be there Friday with the Florida Gang! and will be shooting in Am/Civ, StockMeister, and U/L. Hope to see you there.
Blah, you will need about 150 rounds for each category you shoot. Some recommend you sign up for one or two extra categories to get some extra practice.
I'll be driving the NW Fla "War Wagon" with Don At PC, Phararoh, Uncle Bob on board and maybe Fireglock as the navigator. Make sure you look out for the gray "Team Sidearmor" golf shirts and white hats and say HELLO!!! We love to meet and help out new folks!!!
will do DEJ/FL, im looking forward to it. Still trying to decide if im gonna shoot my G19 or G17. Aw hell, ya know what ill just bring em both;a ^3
I won't be able to make it this year (duty calls!) so you're in charge!(ha)
You guys drive safe and keep the shiney side up.
We'll miss you! Are you still planning on San Antonio?
San Antonio is still too far away to "call".
