When the new thin model first came out, alot of stories were circulating about how they overheated and shut off, or even heated up bad enough to warp the game discs. Mine workls fine. I keep it out in the open slightly raised while playing so air can circulate around it and have had no problems. Sure, the "business" side of it feels a little warm after a while, but the games have never felt more than slightly warm when I take them out after playing, even after a 5 or 6 hour session. I fugure these stories are either "internet rumor" or caused by sticking your PS2 back in a confined space. Any feedback? BTW, mine sure seems like it loads faster than the "thick" one did. Anyone else fell this way?

I don't own a PS2 of any generation, but I keep up on gaming news. This is the first I have heard of overheating problems on the slim PS2.

As far as load times being faster, it's entirely possible that they tweaked the hardware a bit before releasing the new model.
