I'll have plenty of pictures from the match to post!
4 of us are on the road back to GA. Scores were dismal, but we had a GREAT time. Hands down the NICEST RO's we have had the pleasure of shooting with. Well done, Thibodaux!
OK, you drove to LA, no excuses for missing the Mobile match in October since you couldsleep for 3 extra hours
Me and a friend, and his uncle had an incredible time. I did better on 5 to Glock and Glock'm. The plates killed my score. But I had the best time shooting I've ever had. It got me hooked. I will definitely be in Mobile in October. Maybe even the Glock Shootout in Sept. But no Bama, I will not be able to come today. I did meet Dan and a few others yesterday. Dan killed the plate rack in the Unlimited div. But the most important thing for me is that I now have a barometer for me to improve. Like I said I'm hooked so there will be more...
Here is a couple of pics from yesterday. That's me in the black
Your form and stance look pretty good but I think I have a tip to shave 20 seconds off your time. TURN YOUR HAT AROUND!
Lol, I tried two different stances, weaver and isosceles. I was more accurate with the isosceles, so I will work on that as my primary stance. As for the hat, it's my lucky hat that must be worn backwards.
I clicked his pics and thought "of course he is the one with his hat on backwards."
Just giving ya some grief. Glad you had fun. I'm living vicariously through these photo threads. Going to really try and sneak off to the Dayton match in a few weeks. Being Mother's Day is gonna make it a rough sell, but I wanna shoot and (sort of compete)
Plus Danny II offered to let me shoot his RTF2 17 so long as I don't drool on it, but I will hopefully have mine picked up by that time.
Definitely plan on making the "short haul" over to Mobile
This was a well run match. The RO's were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the day, but not my shooting. My hope was to shoot slow and finally break the 100 mark. I had practiced quite a bit and was shooting well in practice, but it did not transfer to the match. Same old thing, bad misses at 20 and 25 yards. Pretty disappointed right now.
The flat thingy on your hat serves two important purposes....when worn in the front that is....one is keeping rain off your glasses, but the other is the best one, and it won't likely take you long to figure it out when you get a hot empty case landing behind your glasses.
Thanks, the shirt is my favorite
If it were raining I'd turn it around for sure. As for the cases. I've never had one hit me in the face since I got the gun. But that's what the safety glasses are for But thanks for the advice!
When do they announce the raffle winners?
At least 30 days after the initial scores are posted; sometimes a little longer.
Wow I didn't expect it'd be that long. Oh well, just another testament as to how busy they are over there. I just got my new 23 so life is good
They had a raffle? Didn't hear anything about that
For every entry you shoot, you get one entry into the raffle. Depending on how many people show, determines how many/what prizes are given out($50, Knives, E-tool, guns). Based on how many we had when I shot Sat morning + possible new entries Sunday I'd say around 200 people which =1 pistol, 12x$50, 7 Glock Knives. If we got to 210 then its 2 pistols plus other prizes. There is also a gun raffle for all new members and those that brought them to the match, but you had to sign up on the new member raffle sheet to be entered.
5m ain't a new member.
Never said he was. It is in the GSSF book
