Been watching a cop show, they made about a dozen arrest in the 30 minute show and every time someone got busted the first words out of their mouths was "I didn't do it". This got me to chuckling about the other things I have heard repeated 100s of times.
Every drunk driver when ask "how much have you had to drink" always said "two beers".
Every time we found contraband they always said "ain't mine".
Everyone accused of theft said "not me, must be someone who looks like me".
Got a guy crawling out of a window one night (not his) and he said "sorry, wrong house".
Every wife beater always said "she started it".
The list goes on and on but I got to get back to the TV, after that I get to watch the snow melt:embarassed:.

How about those who lie to appear as victims? Heck, even legitimate victims lie. But the good news is that none of that has affected me one iota.

MY DUIs have switched from "two" to "nothing". Apparently two was less believable than nothing?

Most people in prison come to Jesus. After the life they have lived so far, I say good luck.

However, Jesus is supposed to love sinners, so "quien sabe?"

Mine too  . Evidently the training has migrated across country. The latest was from a guy that had a previous conviction for DUI/Homocide by Vehicle. Go figure :dunno: .

    :rofl:That's good...

Seems lately that in most every show I see on TV, the dumbass ends a sentence with....."ya hear what I'm saying". Really beginning to aggravate me. People should actually have to have at least a fourth grade education prior to going into high school.

The last memorable drunk I dealt with was obviously sloshed, and when I asked if he had been drinking, he said yes. I asked how much he had drank, and he looked at me and said "I ain't had none today." And he was serious. I scratched my head and looked at my watch, which read 0035. I asked him if he drank yesterday, as in prior to midnight and he just got this grin on his face and did that "you got me" sorta point. I mean, at least he didn't TECHNICALLY lie, right?

One that I've been hearing a lot of lately is "I am not trying to be an a..hole" and "I am not trying to be uncooperative".

Really? Because it sure came out that way.

They get into high school because they are passed into high school on bell curve grading, (hthttp://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast162/Quizzes/curve.htmltp://.

This is done instead of going for pure academic achievement. Now, imagine that classes are getting a little dumber in some areas, but in order to pass the students into the next grade, you have to be able to grade in a way that allows students to minimally pass their overall grade. Such things are also figured in to the class as percentage of grade awarded for testing, participation, actual work, with a possible extra credit bonus are two thrown in for good measure.

Now, back before this came into practice, in the nineteenth century, grading, pure academic achievement, and very good teachers were the rule.

You'll appreciate this one: A few years ago, a friend of mine asked if I wanted to do a ride along with him at his po-dunk department. Long story short, he arrested a drunken idiot for DV, and while in lockup, the guy is screaming about this injustice and looks right at me and says, "I'm a pillar of this community!" I looked back and said "Maybe, but can you see why someone outside the situation might think you're not?" My buddy, his partner and the dispatcher on duty all started crying from laughter. I'm very funny...

Heard it all. However, everybody here starts off with, "You only stopped me cuz I'm (pick your minority group)" before they say anything else such as "it ain't me", "I didn't do it" or "he/she started it".

I love the "I'm not trying to's." As in "I'm not trying to cause y'all no problems." "I'm not trying to go to jail." "I'm not trying to get into trouble with my PO."

I was talking with a young man last week and I inquired as to his drug usage. He said he "mostly tries to avoid that stuff." My next question was "It doesn't work all the time does it?" He hung his head as he said "no." Beautiful.

    Its all semantics.

Yeah, gotta love that. I hear it after I catch them in the act.

Crook: "Man! I ain't EVEN trying to get in trouble."
Me: "Then why you breaking into places and stealing ****?"
Crook: <silence> "I wasn't trying to be caught."
Me: "How's that working out for ya?" <slams backdoor of unit>

I've been getting " I'm just trying to get home" which is, sometimes, eventually paired with "that's not mine, you put it there".

In my entire career I only had ONE DUI that admitted he was in fact, DUI.

That was the guy that refused to get out of the car, When I asked him why not, he admitted, "Because I am to damn drunk to stand up."
