Gen 3 G19 owner and lover. Since I haven't been to the range in awhile and I am feeling less and less safe shooting at the indoor range down the street, I decided to take a trek to my favorite outdoor range. It is located in a valley with target mounts at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. On my way there, ready to turn in I see a solid steel beam across the entrance. What!?! CLOSED. Rats!

I turn around and drive home, because now I am obsessed about shooting my Glock. I go to the interwebs and read about this little mom and pop place about 25 miles away. I go there and it is perfect! They have metal plates set up, with cables that come into the shooting area so you can set them up again after you knock them down. They have targets already set up at 15 and 20 feet, targets are free and everyone out there knew or at least seemed to know about range safety.

It was a great day, I fixed my life long trigger pull problem and only paid $7 for each half hour of shooting. The owner seemed like a great guy and really made me feel welcome.

Other things usually make my day, but today it was the Family Shooters Corral located outside of Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Nice.

At the indoor range I frequent in Tampa, it's $10.50 per shooter for as long as you care to shoot. Downside is it gets pretty warm on the line.
Shooting Sports on Dale Mabry? I have been there twice, and doubt I'll go again unless its during the cooler months around here.

Bill Jackson's is my range of choice now, small place with only 6 lanes but friendly for the most part, a/c works good, and they replaced the bike wheels with updated targeting systems a year ago.

That's a little pricey but nothing beats a range with good staff and equipment.

Ranges are cheap here in South FL but they have Range Nazis breathing down your neck while you're shooting :faint:

25 miles in which direction? I'm over on the lake Michigan shoreline, and there is a real nice indoor one I go to that is MUCH cheaper. If you are going east to get to eaton rapids, west to muskegon would only be a handful of miles more, and with the money you'd save on range time, it may be worth it for ya. If you don't mind an indoor range. 40 a year to become a member, 5 per visit for as long as you wanna stay. If you purchase a pistol from them, a free month of (unlimited) range time
If you're interested, let me know, I'll get ya more info.

I used to live in Holt and shoot at the Dansville DNR range all the time just outside of Mason. It was usually a great quite place to shoot. It's not quite like FSC, but, I preferred the quiet, free place to shoot up to 100 yards. Check it out if you're in the area

Glad you found a nice range. I used to shoot a lot of trap at Mason.

Yes, Shooting Sports. It does get hot, go early in warmer months. Bill Jackson's just a bit too far to go. There's Indoor Shooting Company but only 6 lanes and $15/hour - allow reloads though. Some people from work shoot there and seem to like it. Shoot Straight out on US301 is just too far too for an hour and a half of shooting that I usually do.

Be nice to have more options, but at least we do have choices!

Bummer that you only have another month or so to enjoy it? I imagine winter time in Michigan... most of the outdoor places are closed?

I'm a member of an indoor range with 14 or so lanes. Small country place with no rules about how fast you fire or any of that stuff. I've been going there for almost 3 years and never seen anything scary. $70 for 6 months, all I want to shoot... I go once a week and shoot 250 or so. I'm very happy. I *would* like to find an outdoor place though, so I could setup some GSSF stages to practice.
