With the exception of my Glock 43 and 21 SF I have to install a 6.1 rear sight.
I think the 6.5 is regulated for a 6 O'clock hold? I aim at the center and do not like memorizing holds under to hit center.
    What is you're experience?
Pistols that shoot high are a G22,23, and 17,26.

All mine and that's at least one of each shoot to POA with exception of a 17 that wouldn't shoot anywhere and got sold.

Mine have all hit POA with the factory sights. I added TFX pro sights to a G26.5 and it now impacts about 5” high at 25 yards. I’m not happy with their “combat sight picture” and may try to take some material off the rear to lower POI some.

I've never had a Glock that didn't shoot POA.

Had to change out my son's rear sight on a 17.4 with a 6.1 as it shot high, but four different models of mine all shoot true.

    It's your shooting style/sight picture/eyes.

Doesn't matter, you've figured out how to handle the situation.

Anytime we got a new issue of Glock 22s and 23s (always Gen 3- Gen 4s weren't proven yet) I'd take them to the PD range and shoot them from a rested position at 25 yards to insure they shot to the sights. I stapled a 2x2 post it note in the center of a B27 and held six o'clock on the post-it.

It was the rare G22-G23 which did not print above, or barely on, the top edge of the post-it note using 180 grain Federal HST or 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty.

165 grain HST and Golden Saber gave a better POA/POI relationship.

It's worth noting these pistols rarely showed enough windage error to shoot off the left or right edge of a post-it note at 25 yards. If they did, I corrected them.

2 of my 8 shot close enough that I can claim 'they were on'. The other 6 were off enough for a sight move, but I'm talking about getting the POI in the center of the X...not that off by a half inch crap and it's GTG.

Distance and ammo? Do they shoot high for others?

Friend said his guns shot left, it wasn't the guns.

Hot and mild rounds don't shoot the same or hit the same if aimed the same.

Changing bullet weight can make a difference in POI.

I had the same sights, the issue.
I do a dead on center hold, not 6 o'clock.
I like to shoot at the bullet hole I just shot and hit in or around it.
Do not like to remember a gap or hold, just dead on in the center with sights leveled.
I installed a std. Glock steel front and a 6.1 rear on my G22 yesterday and it now hits exactly to my method.
I set my Rifles the same way. If I aim at a Squirrels eye, that's where I want the bullet to hit. No meat damage.

Apples, tomatoes or oranges, otherwise discussion will be about different topics People who post need to specify:

    • Sight heights used
    • sight picture/hold used
    • distance
    • ammo
    • Rest used or freeehand
    • sights zeroed off a rest, yes or no

Any of the above variables being different is a different circumstance to a single user, and cannot compare to others unless all the variables are the same.

    Good idea, thank you.
OEM front sighs all 0.165 height?
That is what Installed on my G22.
Rear sight is 6.1 metric. Has the long bar with short one under it on right side.
I shoot initially off a bench with sand bags, then off hand to confirm zero.

Distance is 15 yards from bench, then 25 to confirm.

My group size at 15 is approx 1 inch off the bags, maybe bigger if I shoot a magazine.

I try ball first, then a few carry HP's to make sure.

Off hand at 15 is centered and good vertically but much bigger in diameter slow fire two hand.

    Prob
