Well, I just got home from ordering a new Blue label G38. i swung by scheels and got some ammo for when it gets here. And yes, they had 45 GAP in stock. Now i just wish i had a delivery date for it. They said when it gets here, it gets here. Apparently, their Glock deliveries are fairly unpredictable.

I can't wait. Keeping all the stuff in my car so when i get the call, I can pick it up and put a few rounds through it.

On a side note, turns out the guy working the counter new one of the guys that rides on my fire truck. Ended up giving me a card for some free range time... sweet.

There should be no wait, handguns are supposed to be shipped next day air.
When I order I always get it the next day.

Good for you, once you shoot GAP you never go back (to the other calibers that is)

There was actually a lot of thought that went into it.

A little background first. I have 2 G19's with Austrian proofs that I bought to pass on to my sons someday. They are currently 5 and 7. I want to keep them in very good shape, and don't want to CC them. They are for home defense and range use only. The 38 is to CC

    The reasons:

    1. I want to CC a larger caliber than the 9mm. I like the size of the 45.
    2. I love the grip on my G19, and they are the perfect grip for my hands.
    3. I can go to the range and shoot 50 rounds of 45 GAP, and 200 rounds of 9mm and it is a lot cheaper..
    4. Since the grips are the same, I can practice the mechanics and it will be very similar for both models.
    5. i have a lot of faith in a round that Glock helped design for their guns.
    6. Almost everyone who has shot a GAP model has given a great review on them.
    7. 45 ACP guns are just to long and wide in the grip for my liking, and the SF models seem to have some issues.
    8. the more people that support the GAP round, the more prevalent it will become, furthering the reputation of Glock and their designs.
    9. The stores i price ammo at are low to out of 9mm ammo much of the time, and I can seem to always find 45 GAP when I am looking for it.
    10. Because I wanted one. and that is why i do a lot of things... :)

and on a further note, I am still a little up in the air, but I believe I am going to pick up a 23 with the tax return next week too. I like a little variety in life.

I don't know too many people that buy G38's and end up not liking them. Best of luck.

If you are looking for a Blue Label Glock check Ed's Public Safety. They have most models in stock and will get it to you in a couple of days!

The only show that sells blue label in my area took my order, and sent the request to their glock distributor. It will get here when it gets here. it isn't like i bought it from another store and shipped it to my FFL. I am at the mercy of the Glock Distributor in I think Kansas City.... not positive, but think thats it.

Check with Eds Public Saftey, if they have the Glock 38 in stock they will get it to your local FFL dealer in a couple of days. The other guy could take months getting the 38. cancel your order with them.

i had looked at gun broker. they had one for 389. I got mine for 450 + taxes. by the time i shipped, and payed the FFL fee, it would have been more. I also like supporting my local shop. I doubt it would be months, usually just a couple weeks if that long.

i don't know, but I try to support locally owned businesses as much as possible, even if it is a little bit more expensive. And I hate giong to walmart.... only if something is needed at 3 am....

I looked at the G38 but went with its little brother the G39.

I love that little carry piece, even though, down the barrel, there aint nothin little about it.

I'm one of those guy's who's been against the GAP, but I like your way of thinking. Right now I mainly stick to 9mm and 45ACP. I may have to try a GAP this year, after I get a G20SF that is.
