I think the word is "suggested," then, or "guessed," or "hypothesized," or something. If it wasn't confirmed, it obviously wasn't really known.

Old news, as the BBCA version came out today, though the episode actually originally aired last summer.

Which leads us to the chopping up of Top Gear on BBCA... did they not show the part of the show where they made it obvious that Schumacher wasn't The Stig?

Actually it was Schumi, for that one episode at least. But no, he could never have been The Stig full-time, his schedule would never be able to accommodate it even since he retired (he works full time for Ferrari as a consultant and still races his own karts, bikes and GT cars).

Not mention the BBC could never afford him.
The current "White Stig" is widely believed to be GT/ALMS racer Ben Collins, though there are frequently other stand ins and its quite likely that more than one person plays Stig on a regular basis.

In results yes, in actual driving ability, hell no. Mikka Hakkinen and Ayrton Senna were both unarguably more skilled in the cockpit. Men like Fangio, Moss and Clark were also probably better drivers but that argument is much more academic as they were from different eras. Schumacher's best talent in the cockpit was being able to listen to men like Ross Brawn and execute the right tactic to pull off a win regardless of conditions, something very very few drivers have the discipline to do.

That's why he has seven world titles and 93 grand prix wins...so far.

Nope, just for that particular show. Ferrari wouldn't let anyone else test the FXX, including whomever the real Stig is.

    :)

Just a publicity stunt by both Ferrari and Top Gear.
