By intentionally holding back his retirement announcement until 24 HOURS before the deadline for filing the 4500 signatures needed from Indiana's nine congressional districts, power brokers in Indiana's Democratic Party have effectively disenfranchised all voters in the state. With no time for alternative candidates to raise the necessary signatures, the 'Central Committee' of the party is allowed to nominate it's candidate without a single vote from the public. Indiana has open primaries meaning anyone can vote in any party's primary. So, all voters in Indiana have been cheated by Bayh's last minute door slamming on the electorate.

This shouldn't matter, since everyone on here talks about how great things are when a Republican is in office. And if it's a new Dem coming in, there will be a great excuse for failure.

If you read the 'open letter' in the link of the OP, you will find an Indiana voter who is completely disgusted with Rupublicans in office. I am somewhat dismayed to discover that the leader of the Indiana Tea Party has filed to run on the GOP ticket.

The other problem with the Dems dodging the primary is that all the Dem voters will now vote in the GOP primary, distorting the results.
