Someone brought that up on another forum. They made a good point.

Radio may make a comeback to keep in touch. TV, and internet will be shut down. Then what...modern day people will be lost.

Can you imagine back in Washington's day?

No cars, no communications other than Paul Revere. Just a bunch of patriots and their squirrel guns. Unbelievable that we beat a super power like England in our backwards state of being.

Not know anything about long distance radio communications are there any ways to get into it without being a radio crazed HAM?

There will be a single TV station and a single radio station, both government controlled. Jamming devices will be used to block other TV or radio communications.

Millennials will commit suicide by the thousands when their cell phones are taken away.

People will revert to talking face-to-face.

Absolutely. However, I am very glad I saw the photograph before eating breakfast and not during breakfast.

Your government has the ability to censor the radio, television, print media. Don't kid yourself. Do you know when reporters were first allowed to operate in US government military operations without censorship and the result? It was the Vietnam War. All the US had to do was to prohibit reporters/television crews/photographers to accompany the military and for South Vietnam to declare the same people persona non grata and forbid their entry into the country. And if the legalities aren't enough, there are hundreds of newspeople killed deliberately around the world each year.

For those of you who weren't around then, how many US soldiers were POWs and returned (NOT PILOTS)? 76 soldiers were returned to the US. You never saw NVA/VC films of people being killed. Yet, turn on the US t.v. or read a paper and there it is. The TET offensive was so bloody to the North that the Commies removed the long term head of the military, General Giap. The war would have been over much sooner if the North Vietnamese had freedom of the press. And you can bet that your government will do the same censorship here.

The British beat themselves.
Exactly. It was a fortuitous combination of inept leadership in England who acted on bad advice from their sources in the colonies, limitations on travel and communication that were unique to that era, the international rivalries of the day that worked to our favor, etc. It could not be replicated even if we tried.

Actually, it'll be the necessity of "face-to-face" interaction - and the required civility skills that go with such interaction - more so than loss of cell phones that will be the suicide-switch for the Social Media Generation, which includes more folks than just Millennials.

I mean, when up you can't hide behind a device or screen and text or hit the 'SEND' button to communicate with another human, ... what's the point of life anymore?

The revolution will not be televised
Not sure your average "Modern Family" today would recognize it as such even if it was.

To these somnolent folks it would be just another episode of Reality T.V.

In any crisis, which is along with bigger riots, revolution oder civil war similar conditions, mobile phone network will be shut down.

This means, that 99% of the population will be cut off from communication.
Good old radio will be the new cell phone.
