This is a small file, so I thought I would attach it directly. This is the pic that aroused my interest in photography many years ago. In retrospect, it still says a lot, and moves me when I see it. It is by W. Eugene Smith from his photojournal series on Minamata. This Japanese town was near a chemical plant that spewed mercury into the local water system, causing severe birth defects. The mother bathing her severely handicapped child never fails to move me. If you haven't seen this one, it's worth a look.
