It has begun! I was at a public firearms range this weekend and I observed 3 good ol' boys at one end of the outdoor firing line. They were wearing BDU pants, combat-style boots, web belts, and t-shirts (really, really, really tight t-shirts) with miliatary type slogans on them!!! And, they were shooting military style rifles that used military caliber ammunition!!! :wow:

The militarization of non-military persons has begun!!!!! What next?!?!?

Everyone is potentially a soldier? Taking the Second Amendment to the US Constitution literally? Prior service military? They just like to dress up in the cool military looking stuff? Forming citizen brigades against terrorism? Getting ready to take the neighborhood back from the hoodlums?

I have an active imagination, and could really go wild, but I'll restrain myself.

PS - Of course, that phrase could mean something totally different in the prison environment.

    Correct, no comment about:

    • poor gun handling
    • fat guts
    • major attitudes
    • etc

Nothing better than fat out of shape slobs trying to play dress up like they are SF or SWAT operators and talk gear and pretend they can walk from the range to their car without stopping 3 times to catch their breath.

I figured I would catch someone's SWAT team... do they also roll around in a 1983 Chevy pickup painted in jungle camo and rust with a bed full of empty budweiser cans?

HAHA! No, but their shirts are all XS and also created a website with "operator" playing cards. Speaking of cliche police terms, does the word "nexus" bug you as much as it does me? I think it has to be the #1 most over-used term in Federal investigations.

Nexus doesn't get used that much around here. We do say respond and exit the car and other cliches too much though.
