Meanwhile, Tiger is playing a very conservative game, not sandbagging it like he usually does on the first day. He's eminently aware of the media exposure he's enjoying...

Opening day results don't mean nothing in regards to how it's all going to end. Rarely has someone stood out for the duration, or so it seems.

Maybe the old timers can hang in there, although I have to back my compatriots Immelman, Schwartzel and of course I would love to see a green jacket for Ernie. Keep an eye on Mateo Manassero, hope he makes the cut, I think he's got a future.

I don't want Tiger to win. Not in a negative way, perhaps I should rather say I hope some else wins. I'm just tired of the media and hype around his carefully engineered return to golf which just happened to be at the Masters.
Then again, may the best golfer win, if it happens to be Tiger, so be it.

Enjoy it while you can. They'll fall off by the 3rd round.

    Tiger by 8!

I want Tiger to win it just to upset all his critics. "Why yes, I can have my cake and eat it too..."

You know what they say...a golf course is a waste of a perfectly good rifle range. j/k...I'd play golf if I didn't suck at it so much.

It's been a while since the Masters field had this many players games peaking at the same time. It should be fun to watch. 20 different guys playing for 1st rather than 2nd place.

He might go all the way, but he might get in trouble for cheating.

May the best glofer win. Since I'm less than a month away from turning 55, there is a certain pleasure in seeing the leader board with "cronologicaly experienced" players. This could truely be a Masters Tournament.

As far as Tiger Woods goes: It doesn't matter to me what he's done or what he does. Thousands if not millions of youngstgers looked to him as a role model. Here was/is a good looking, well spoken, Stanford educated (not just attended), well raised young man from a military family. He reached across racial barriers and was an international ambassador of golf and represented many of the best ideals of America. Then the great slide. The potential, and hoped for (by me anyhow) positive outcome of his downfall, is the hope people will think twice before ever again turning an athelete into a role model. There are so many other more worthwhile choices, parents, grandparents, clergy, teachers, and so on. Maybe, just maybe this is a wake-up call against idolizing those not worthy. Playing a game better than 99.99% of other humans does not make you a wonderful person.

The only thing better than someone doing this would have been someone hiring "the streaker" with the same message written on his back:
