Boy , seems so outdated, but appropriate for everyone..:crying:

    Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans..

Lyrics to "Happy Trails" by Dale Evans Rogers
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

    Some trails are happy ones,
    Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

What started it all, was I told a person that was travelling abroad, "Happy trails"..It didn't connect with them..
I just thought that it might remind we that grew up with that mantra, to stop and think... and maybe , remember those day's, pass it on...
What with google, it makes a trivia question a yawn'er...Liked those..

Heres how I figure old how old somebody is.
When a plane flies over just say "Look its Sky King."
If ttey say "who?" then there is an age clue.
If they "nope, thats what he flew" and go on to describe the plane then you know the person is about your age.

I got a Nelliebelle of my own when I was old enough to drive. And I remember a Sky King episode where he was dropping bags of sand on some bad guys trying to make a getaway.

"Out of the blue of the western sky comes ... Sky King!" :fred:

Saturday morning was Rin Tin Tin, Circus Boy, Toby Tyler, My Friend Flicka and Fury all in a row.

Ever notice that Roy Rogers, for all his fancy pistol twirling and furious bullet slinging was rarely ever shown to actually shoot somebody--he just shot the guns out of the bad guy's hands and lasso'd the varmints to a tree.

He was one of the good guys in real life as well as on the screen. :cowboy:

No discussion of Saturday morning TV shows from the 50's would be complete without mentioning Fury.

Now, here's a trivia question that Goggle Meister's won't be able to cheat on.
What company was the sponsor of Fury?

A lot of bad guys were dispatched by a conk on the noggin with the butt of a revolver back in the day.

Just as noteworthy, many of the TV shows were set in contemporary times, yet judging by the clouds of smoke issuing out of the firearm muzzles, they hadn't yet discovered smokeless powder.

Her purpose in life was to get kidnapped and tied to a chair each week so Sky and Clipper could resuce her.

Penny did fall down a well in a few episodes, but Lassie refused to go and get the adults after the 50th time.

Yea, Old Pete was one of my favorites too. Don't remember his name but he played many westerns including Wagon Train and the Rifleman, and later as the camp chef on the Adventures of Spin and Marty, until he died.

They apparently made the bullets go faster too by swinging the pistols down toward the target with each shot.

And yes, Penny was hot, in a Mary Ann sort of way. :embarassed:
