People who are conservative and don't vote GOP are idiots.
People who want conservatives but refuse to court Libertarians are idiots too.
Jill Stein (I believe her name was) and the green party was one of the things Hillary was screeching about causing her to lose in '16, especially here in WI.
Yes, that is true. Trump won Wisconsin by 22,748 votes. Jill Stein got 106,674. There is no reasonable doubt that without her Clinton would have won Wisconsin. The same thing happened in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Unfortunately, this year the Greens are running ... I dont know who. I just went to their web site to see who their candidates were and their web site still says:
While the Green Party won't be selecting our presidential nominee until July of 2020, the race for the 2020 Green Party presidential nomination has already begun. The Presidential Campaign Support Committee has published the documentation for those seeking our nomination. The PCSC also maintains a document listing those seeking our nomination.
At this point in the nomination process, the following candidates have met basic criteria for official recognition by the Green Party of the United States. They are Howie Hawkins, Dario Hunter and David Rolde.
The national Green Party is committed to maintaining a neutral stance towards those seeking our nomination. The individual campaigns are responsible for supplying the material that appears below and a posting does not imply endorsement or approval of the content by any Green Party entity.
I think the Greens have decided to drop out of the race or something.
Looks like their candidate is the white guy, but they are mainly using pictures of his VP candidate, the bald black woman.
Those people "want conservatives" to be elected. Casting their vote for the most conservative candidate, knowing he can't get elected, only helps to elect the farthest left major candidate. If people who "want conservatives" do things that help Democrat get elected, those people are stupid. No way around that.
If you are assuming LIbertarians would vote for the party that is entirely dedicated to fighting against individual freedom and our constitution, I think that tells us something about you, but nothing art all about Libertarians.
You aren't paying attention to the details.
Democrats court social liberty.
Republicans court fiscal responsibility.
There is a compromise that even two idiots can reach an agreement on.
If you can't grok that maybe that's more telling about you...
Right - the party fighting against everything in the first and second amendments is "courting social liberty."'
I think one of us thinks "social liberty" starts and ends with legal dope-smoking.
Then I would be correct. You aren't thinking about a compromise between two twisted up groups unifying.
You just want your way or nothing else.
This election I doubt many Republicans or independents will vote libertarian.
Prepare to be disappointed.
Republicans could have helped themselves with the Libertarian party's ideas on individual rights and freedom coupled with smaller government but they hung their hats on "weeds is bad". Best of luck with that .
You are most certainly correct. Same holds true for a majority of Libertarians helping out the Republicans.... Sometimes even the big dog needs help....
Neil Cavuto was pushing 3rd party Jo Jorgensen yesterday.
So here we are....
No one willing to do anything to make things better, just toeing that ****ing line like a bunch of showgirls....
May the best drama queen win.
All I want to do is go on record and ask the collective Republicans on GT, not to ***** about losing the election (if they do) because of Libertarians not voting for their fool candidate and their treatment of Libertarians in general prior to said election.
Sucks to be us.... because of you.
I took a look at the Brunswick county nc totals so far. Only a few hundred libertarian early in person votes Republican over 13000, Unafilliated around 12000, democrat about 7500.
Mail ins accepted democrat about 5500 rep about 3500.
Trend is relative more Rep votes vompared to 2016 at this phase and almost no libertarian votes.
This is subject to change and approx rounded numbers. Updated daily.
My evaluation is looking good so far.
It's only my opinion that more Libertarians vote Republican when they have to.. I think this would hold true to actual voting Libertarians over the perceived "pot smokers" that Bren alludes to... Seems actual supporters of liberty can't figure out why the goverment is in charge of what others ingest. Authoritarians gonna Authoritate .
