I carry the Glock 17 everyday..... some of my friends make fun of me due to it's a 9mm. Well let me tell you what I have been doing. I have been practicing at the range, what I have been doing is two shot groups, you know... Bang, bang. My friends all carry .45's, I have a .45acp but I really like the performance of the 9mm. I use the 124 gr. Gold Dot. I figure if I shot Two shots groups at a 124gr. at a pop thats 248gr. into the wound area, thats better that a single .45 at 230gr. .............RIGHT???? Todays 9mm ammo is alot better than yesterdays 9mm ammo. I don't feel under gunned at all. Is anyone else feel this way??

My HD ammo in my G17 is Winchester Ranger Law Enforcement 124gr JHP +P. Plenty of whoopass IMO.

9mm bashers can say what they want, I still wouldn't want to be down range for any caliber.

I also carry a G17 all day everyday. At night it does double duty as home defense pistol.Mine wears Mepros and I have complete faith in it.I have other pistols in larger calibers but I prefer my G17.

It's strange....... There is a love that forms around the 17 once you own and shoot one. I know it's the dark side calling.

GLOCK 17 since 1993...and still going strong. As a duty weapon or as a home defence handgun I still have not found a suitable replacement. I'm not even looking that hard.

And yes, I own, shoot and love several very nice M1911's. The one thing about them I like better is the trigger. But for reliability, comfort, multiple shot engagement, and with todays ammo, I'll take the GLOCK 17!

this is true...picked up my 17 from sinkemlow here a month ago

first Full size glock and first 9mm in over 6 years. after shooting it back to back with my SA 1911, 27, 36, and friend's series 70, the 17 was given a better respect from me

9mm double-tap groups about as small as single fire 2 round 45acp groups...

i have put a handall on it now which makes a good difference..i ALMOST sold this thing to finance another 1911, but i just couldnt do it...as soon as i put it up for sale i took it down

i hope to have this forever...

Truer words have not been said. Today I carried a G17 on duty all day for the first time in many years. In the afternoon a buddy showed up with a reworked Beretta 92FS. Beautiful gun to be sure and a great shooter. He shot 15 rounds and almost put them all in the same hole...

And then I shot 18 rounds out of my G17...and put them ALL in the same hole!!!

Slow fire at 7 yards...but it still felt great and when all was said and done she was still queen at our range!

    Gotta love the G17!

Well, you got the better end of the deal. I guess that explains #1's avatar. I was wondering why someone who was so in love with the G17 had a 26 as his avatar.

Did he tell you what led to his change of heart?

I also use 147 gr (WWB) in my G17. Lowest felt recoil, maximum expansion and penetration.
