The originalWilly Wonka has been my favorite movie since I was little! I still watch it from time to time! I still REFUSE to watch the new one with Johnny Depp. No way it can be as good as the first one.

Burton's movie sucked because all the Oompa-Loompas were all the same guy digitally multiplied ad nauseam. At least Wilder's movie had real singing midgets in it.

(1970) Quackster Fortune Has A Cousin In The Bronx -

Poor Quackster, if things don't work out in Dublin he has a cousin in America.

Gene Wilder - an illiterate Dublin manure peddler who doesn't want to work in the factory like all the other men, so he gets up late everyday and follows the horse carts around with his pushcart and sells handfuls of poop to housewives for window boxes and such. He's quite the popular fellow. ;)

Margot Kidder (10 years before Lois Lane) - an American college student in Dublin

A funny, touching love story. And it is funny.

    Yeah, Wilder was great.

When I was really young, he scared me when he blows up at Charlie and Grandpa Joe in his office. I though "Wow, he is mad!"

He was hilairious working with Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor.

"Little bastard shot me in the ***!"

    Bart: Are we awake?
Jim: Were not sure. Are we...black?
    Bart: Yes we are.
Jim: Then we're awake. But we're very puzzeled.

You know, life very rarely gives a person the opportunity to use a sentence like this.
You should savor the moment while you have it.

I've always felt kind of embarrassed for Wilder after YF. Like "Dang, he used to be funny but now it falls so flat and silly."

I talked to a mountain man who was an extra in the movie Wilder and Harrison Ford made. He said Wilder was pretty friendly and talked to the extras.

Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies of all time. I don't think it will ever get old. What's more, I saw it in a theatre when it came out.
