I keep seeing people talk post about how they would not own or use a work gun (CCW, or sidearm) because it is butt-ugly.

I have to question this statement.
Why would you not own/use a gun that is butt-ugly?
    I don't get it.

If the gun works use it.

What say you? Would use buy, use, own a butt-ugly gun?

I love good looking guns.......but, I don't care a whit about what my ccw and packing guns look like......there is a distinction, you know!

Glock is a great service gun......but, ugly as hell!

    .....so is XD.

I'd have to say a glock is pretty ugly in the cosmetic aspect, compared so say a nickel plated sissy pistol with some nice wood grips, however the glock is beautiful in the aspect of utility. They just keep going no matter what and are very simple when compared to other designs.

Now, a hi-point which happened to make Bud's list of most sold guns in 2009, sheeeeeeeeet, is another story.

I thought glocks were ugly till i shot them.

More important than how ugly/nice it looks, is how it shoots =).

The uglier and worn, the better.

The way I see it, there are ugly and pretty guns that are equally reliable. None are terribly cheap, so might as well spend my hard-earned cash on the ones I find to be better looking. Example would be SCAR vs. nice AR15, Glock vs. Beretta, Hi-Point vs. bag of hammers.

I have seem very few "ugly" gun. But I don't judge a service gun by its look. Beauty is in the eye of beholder.

i'm fond of non-ugly guns, but my sis has a .45 high point for a nightstand gun. it's seriously ugly, and i'm not sure it's ever been field stripped. goes bang every time so far...

Why would I buy something ugly when there are better looking choices that work just as well if not better? A Steyer for example may be very reliable but I think they are ugly and would rather carry a USPc which I think lokks much better. I don't see what's wrong with that.

I own some ugly guns. However, they are beautiful on the "inside".

I thought my first P7PSP was an odd looking gun at first and my P239 that was my first Sig I thought was ugly. But with both of them being reliable and accurate they began to look good after a while.
