The OP was a well written post, and very true.

Trump makes me cringe with some of the crap he does.

But, he is not President to be a nice guy. If he is effective and leaves us better than he found us, that's all I can ask.

I can see past my dislike of many of his qualities and see he is good for us as a whole, so he is the best man for this job.

Voting is like house hunting. Nothing is perfect, 2 or 3 things are critical and everything else is details. Don't like it after awhile? Get a new one.

Trump house may have bad paint and squeaky floors, but Hillary house has a backed up sewer drain, rats in the attic and black mold.

Dems hate him, I get that.

But, for the Republicans that don't like him, you'd have to write down your priorities and see who would have been a better fit. If I were to write mine down, I'd be wanting him to do things like lower taxes, protect and strengthen our military, lower unemployment, reduce regulation, improve the economy, etc. Some things are under his control to a point, some aren't (like draining the swamp, when those who are needed to drain the swamp are part of the swamp).

So, for Republicans who don't like Trump and continue to bash him, I'm curious what was on your list. If 'Not saying dumb things on Twitter' was up above the things he has done, then I guess you voted for someone else in the primary. Good for you, we all had choices and everyone gets to participate. But, I don't know if there was a better candidate for the things that I'd like to have seen a Republican president to, so although he does do some things that I wish he didn't do, much of his Twitter and rally wording is totally appropriate to me based on the 24/7 abuse he's under from most of the left and the media. He plays defense much more often than he plays offense.

But, to each their own. We all have choices and live in a country where we have the opportunity to voice our opinion, for which we're lucky.

Greatness doesn't necessarily mean you love the guy. It means he displays extraordinary traits.

Trump displays extraordinary resilience in that he's the most attacked President in US history, and not only weathers it, but thrives on it. Love him or hate him, that's impressive.

Little kids believe in stuff like Santa Claus, and that it will end at bump stocks. If a court rules that bureaucrats can just pen a regulation, we are doomed. In your eyes, president Trump resides at the North Pole, but when a democrat gets in the WH, the results of the precedent being set is going to be very harmful to the Second Amendment. Especially with a SCOTUS who won't take up a 2A case, allowing lower court rulings to stand.

Little kids might not understand that we have to draw the line to stop incrementalism. I don't own bump stocks, but I don't like that a bureaucrat can just summarily ban them with the stroke of a pen. You wouldn't have liked it if Obama had done it. What will president O'Rourke or Warren want banned with the stroke of a pen?

I don't buy guns person to person, but I don't want universal background checks. I certainly don't want red flag laws, or social credit system. All three things are things this president has floated. So he gets away with bumpstock bans without a political hit. A couple more shootings, we get UBC. A couple more after that, we get national red flag. A couple more after that, a social credit system. And people like you will be bowing at the altar of DJT.

I don't think people realize how much influence Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr have on this president. We supposedly attacked Syria because Ivanka was upset at the pictures of children allegedly hit with WMD. What about pictures from the next mass shooting? Only one of the presidents offspring is a hunter, and he is probably a FUDD.

Perilous times ahead for the 2A, and gun owners are too drunk on kool aid to see it.

Our NRA is broke. They offer no resistance to the pending and past gun laws.
Geo. Herbert Bush Republican President resigned from the NRA in anger. Gun Owners must pay close attention to any President.

Umm, you realize all the regulations from the alphabet agencies are penned by bureaucrats, right? And that the courts have ruled that this is legal, right?

He's doing more about exposing the corrupt news media, and putting a spotlight on the swamp, and doesn't pull his punches at all......than any president we've ever had has done......

I think that's pretty darn great. :flag:

As opposed to the wonderful group of warm and fuzzies that are volleying to run against him, or Nancy and the future candidates for sainthood?

Get your archetypes right. Trump stands for the right archetypes. Capitalism vs Socialism, what idea is better and why?
Make America great or resist, what idea is better and why?
    Sovereign or subservient
    Freedom or captivity
    Great or run-of-the-mill
Trumps stands proud for the right stuff.
    Did anyone mention winning?

President Trump kept too many Obama Liberals in his Government. They are and have influenced him more than once. He kept too many Demogators when he did not drain the swamp.

Trump is not a gun guy like most of us, he is a New Yorker, with a lot of baggage. It seems to me that Trump is getting a better understanding of the importance of the 2nd A.

Many Republicans ask him what new gun law would have stopped this. I do not get your point "Context"?:dunno:

Yes, possibly. When then citizen Trump wrote his "Biography" he made it clear. He did not support citizens owning the AR-15. Has he come out in defense of owning the AR 15 since becoming President? :dunno:

The bumpstock ban was a regulation rule change by the BATFE. Court cases are still progressing.

So what was the Executive Order (please note number so I can look it up) that Trump used to pass the Democrats demand for a ban of the " BFS".

    Also please define "BFS".
