Just a heads up based on my experience. I bought two 150rd boxes of WINCHESTER Forged 9mm ammo, 115gr, STEEL case. I've been buying Winchester products for about 60 years. This ammo and some .22 I recently bought must be some of the most worthless junk I've ever seen. The steel cases look like they were retrieved from a land fill. They are chalky and look almost corroded. Had one stick in my barrel and had to tear down the gun and use a dowel to remove. I suspect if you wipe down each round with some lube right before you shoot it will function, but I would never leave it in my 43x for any self defense purpose. Sorry Winchester, you lost a 60 yr customer.

I would call Winchester and tell them what your ammo looks like and how it functioned (or didn’t function). Give them a chance to make it right. Then make your final judgement of them. I have been running wolf through my G48. So far only 400 rounds but it has been prefect.

Anyone run the federal aluminum cased 115grain through the 43x or 48 have some local I can pick up 600 rounds for pretty cheap. Always shot brass but seen a guy needing to sell so I was thinking some cheap plinking ammo

Ast year I bought 5,000 rounds of Winchester Wildcat ammo and it’s the worst ammo I’ve ever used. Most of my 22 semi-auto handguns are highly reliable but none of them can use this ammo w/o some sort of failure in almost every mag. They work OK in long guns (non-semi) and revolvers, but most of my shooting is with the semis.
I thought I just bought part of a bad production run but now I’m not too sure.

I did the same thing. Bought 10 boxes of the Winchester Wildcat 22 40gr. More problems than some of my ancient "Zapper" ammo that must be decades old and never a ftf. What is my beloved Winchester doing? Then I bought the "Forged Steel" so now very disappointed. I've searched on the Winchester site, and find that I am not alone.

I’m in on a 43X. Super comfy in a leather owb. I’m usually the last to buy the latest and greatest but I can tell this is a keeper over the 26 I’m selling.

Go to Shield Arms and check out their S15 mags and their metal mag release. I have 6 of their 15 round mags and put the metal mag release in myself. I own the 43x which is the same as the 48 but a shorter barrel. My 43x is now a 16 round sidearm (15 in the mag and 1 in the chamber) and then 15 rounds reloaded if needed with each magazine. I no longer have to carry a “service or duty” weapon for high capacity capability. These 15 round mags fit flush with the grip so you don’t have to use mag extenders - You’ll love it.

I handled the Sig 320x with the straight trigger. I really liked that trigger. Might start saving up for a replacement trigger for the 43x.

    The
The P320 to me is a good gun, it's just heavy and thick for comfortable concealed carry. If I was open carrying it would be fine. The G48 is significantly thinner and lighter feeling with the stock 10rd mag.

My son owns the 48 and enjoys it. He has owned Glocks for 2 decades and trusts them. Going from a 1911 to a striker fired pistol has had its challenges but I feel very confident with my first Glock.

My father spent 21 years as a police officer and used/still uses the hell out of his Glock 17 Gen 2 and never once had a single malfunction. So I decided to give Glock a shot after having the sig for just over two years. I actually am trying to sell it but haven't had much luck... I'm even including a decent amount of ammo in the price. I figured with the crazy gun and ammo buying frenzy going on right now I'd have a bite...

the lgs threw in a blade tech nano that someone else obviously hated, and at first I thought I made a mistake with the 43x, looked for a new holster, but set up with the can’t, this thing is all, all day comfortable. As good as my cm9, maybe better. I like the loops too, you just leave it on.

a little printing, but worth it.
