What model? Was it the first handgun you ever shot? Where were you and what did you think? Please tell your story. Funny, scary, exciting or crazy - I'm sure it is one you remember! The first handgun I shot was a military-issue .44 revolver when I was 17. I think it was a Colt. Up until that point, I was a crack-marksman with a Ruger .22 on my high school's rifle team. I also shot with 12, 16, and 20 gauge shotguns when I went deer and duck hunting with friends. (I didn't like the .44 revolver so much.) So a few months ago, I started shopping for my first handgun. I went to the local firing range and tried the G19. I really liked it! So far, I have only shot a G19 and my husband's G36. The .45 is hotter of course - I am not quite ready for that. I am more comfortable with a 9mm right now but believe that over time, I will get to like the .45. I realize the G19 is a clean and simple one to use, which is not a bad thing, eh? However, I will try the G23 next time at the range, since I've never shot a .40 cal. I really am SOLD on the Glock. I may try and buy others later, but my first handgun is definitely going to be one of Gaston's babies.
