The fire within

    that is one nice piece of work,i been wondering how to edit a pic like yours and not a link.

    It's nice, but to be honest, I think it's a bit timid. I think I would like to see more contrast, to see the fire within offset by deep color of the flower. Also, that burned edge around the center of the middle flower attracts too much attention, I think. This is just a quick hack, so you can do much better, of course:

    The petals are a little grainy in this rendition, so they would have to be selectively cleaned up.

    I like the grainy petals.

    They do seem to glow from within! Very nice.

    Thanks for playing with it. Your version might be a tad too contrasty for my taste, but you're right - mine was on the timid side. I do like what you did with the burned area in the center flower. :thumbsup: I hadn't though to do that, and it does make a noticeable difference. Thanks!
