    Picked this up last night.

It's a west hurley auto ordnance, so if the horror stories are true it might be a project gun. Looks like.someone already replaced the trigger.

if it is a project gun in the end, take the ball and run with it! trick it out, enjoy it, and rub in everyone's face that your total project cost less than the base pistol they started with.

Right now, see if it shoots.

I've had 1911's before. Sold my last one about 8 years ago when I got into glock.

Probably will replace the sights on it. As well as an extended slide release and safety, I've never suffered from hammer bite but it will probably get a beaver tail too.

Main reason I got it was because my 15 year old son has been telling me we need a .45. It will become his in 3 years.

One of the best shooting 1911s I had was an Auto Ordnance, it was loose but shot 1.5" groups at 25yds. I don't think the trigger has been replaced, it looks just like the one that was in my gun. Shoot and enjoy.

Trigger has a set screw for over travel adjustment.

    Don't think that was standard.

Well no work done yet, but did finally get it out to the range.

Had a bag of mixed .45ACP ammo left over from the days when I used to shoot 1911's. Several brands of 230 gr FMJ, some round nose lead hand loads and various JHP's most of which seemed to be Golden Sabers or Hydrashocks.

After reading some of the horror stories about West Hurley AO's I was a little worried.

Good news, it fed everything fine.

Bad news, it was shooting about a foot low at 25 yards.
