The pope refuses to control the pedophile/child molester priests in the catholic church. That is much more destructive to our society than any firearm. Who is he to talk about morality?

It's easy for him to tell us to disarm when he is protected buy his personal swiss guard and 40' walls. Wonder if he also uses SimpliSafe?

Throughout history more people have been killed in the name of religion than by any firearm.

The pope should worry about religious matters and stop meddling in politics.
But they never have done that so...

This guy literally is an asshat. Ever see the wall around the Vatican? Talk about fear and distrust. The Arms makers do good work ... they deserve to be paid. The Arms industry also pays way more in taxes than does the Roman Catholic Church.

True. Its origins in the 300’s AD started out as a political entity and it never turned away.

He should know, perverse logic and fostering a climate of distrust are specialties of the Catholic church.

With all that's going on in the US today I'm amazed at the near complete silence of the Church.

Perhaps it's their fear of further reprisals against them thanks to the Catholic Church knowingly sweeping decades of sexual abuse under the vatican rug?

And I guess the second greatest Comandment of them all, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" is meaningless these days because there's no mention of Black Lives Matter in the original texts...

I was raised Catholic and realized many years ago that Catholicism does not represent my views and values.

Same for me. Raised in a Catholic home, 12 years of parochial schooling. I will never have anything to do with the Catholic church....I call them the "Gimmies" as in "give me your money so we can build the defense funds for our child molester priest" Could care less what the pope says or does.

The Pope can go take a flying leap. Nothing more than a so called religious organization in bed with the globalists.

All religions are just man made institutions of control. And I was raised catholic and grew up next to some “born again” Bible Baptist, they were a real treat at times.

ETA: not that there’s really anything wrong with religion if that’s your thing, they do good also.

I concur, and get this point completely. However.. there are a LOT of Catholics that are rabid anti-abortion. Yet, without fail, vote for the very people that make it legal. Same applies to the 2A. As a recovering Catholic, I've seen this many times in my 53 years. What the Pope says has zero bearing on my life, but is huge for the flock following him. Never underestimate useful idiots, regardless of what they believe they think. .2 cents.

How many armed guards does he have behind those closed security walls that surround the Vatican?

You should consider Eastern Orthodoxy. The Church founded by the first Christian Roman Emperor, Constantine. There is no Pope, priest marriage is strongly encouraged, the Church is led by the Council Of Patriarchs, each one representing his own country interests.
More democratic, a little less corrupt and no problems with priests chasing after children.
