An Army colonel, wanting the attention of a nearby Navy chief, decided to have a little fun."Hey, Sergeant," he said, but got no response. So the colonel said, "Hey, Sergeant," again. And again there was no response. So the colonel tapped the chief on the shoulder, and said, "Excuse me, Sergeant, didn't you hear me?" "Yes, sir," the chief said, "I heard you very well. But I didn't think you were addressing me. I am not a sergeant, I am a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy." "I am sorry, Chief," the colonel said, "but if you were in the Army you would be a sergeant." "No, sir," the chief replied, "If I was in the Army, I'd be a Colonel."
