I watched this movie on the flight to Amman last week, and it was absolutely brilliant! Sandra Bullock lookin' absolutely smokin' in blonde hair, but that didn't make the movie.

It was a really excellent film! I recommend it.

It really was a great movie. I almost forgot it was a movie while I was watching it and was totally engrossed in the plot.

I gotta wonder if the scene where she confronted the thugs who threatened her boy was true, or "artistic license". If it's true, that took guts, which the woman obviously has in abundance anyway.

She was cooler'n hell in that film!

I agree, CJ. When I saw that I said to my wife, "Sandy's gonna get an Oscar for that. Ok, she probably won't. But she deserves to."

I couldn't believe it when I'd heard she'd won. Deserved every bit of it.

Great flick. Love Sandra. Not sure if it was Oscar worthy. It wasn't a stretch role. She didn't play Elephant Man or something. But I loved the movie.

I don't know what it is about that post, but I'm assuming it was the brief mental image of Sandra Bullock playing Elephant Man that got me rolling.

Well done, sir. Your humor struck me at just the right time.

Sandra = Hot. I've had a crush on her since Speed.

Man.. She is SMOKING HOT as a blonde. Way better than as a brunette IMO.

Great movie.. I really enjoyed it.

One of the things I liked, is how they done the credits... kinda made you realize that some folks actually lived that story.

FWIW, I saw an interview with Mr. Tuohy and one of the things that came out was how Oher was peeved that the movie was so off from reality.

Basically, the overall story is true. The specifics have been largely changed. I wouldn't doubt little things like him commenting that it his first bed etc. But if that little blonde haired white woman got fresh with a Memphis gangbanger, the story would have ended differently. It would be neat to have someone do a scene by scent fact check.

But that doesn't mean it isn't a good movie.

It's a movie for cryin out loud..lol. I don't think they claim that every single scene in the movie is true. I saw another interview w/ Oher himself, in which he said he didn't plan to see the movie, but decided to. Said he understood they had to do some things to make it interesting. Said the biggest problem he has, what that they made it seem like he knew nothing about football when he started playing HS football.

That said... Something I found interesting... If you watch the credits, the last pic of Oher as a child, is one of two known pics of Oher as a child. Look at the shirt.. 'True Winners Never Lose'... almost prophetic.
