June 6, 1944 to June 6, 2005. This is the 61st Anniversary of D-Day! "Operation Overlord."

Let us take a moment to honor all those that took part in the Invasion and Liberation of France!

Those Gallant men of the 101st and 82nd Airborne who parachuted into and landed in gliders during the night, on the shores of Normandy, France, many far from their assigned DZ. They suffered heavy losses; however, managed to perform all of their assigned missions.

The men of the Seaborne forces, who landed underfire at the designated beachs at Normandy.

I would also especially honor the Rangers, from the Ranger BN's that took part in the landings at Omaha beach and those from the 2nd BN who climbed the cliffs of Pont Du Hoc, underfire.

The Rangers at Omaha beach gave the Rangers one of their most important mottos "Rangers Lead The Way," which was uttered to the Rangers by Gen. Cota to the Rangers, who led the way off the Omaha beach.

I admit after watching Mail call on the history channel that the 101, and 82nd airborne kicked some butt. These are unsung hero's
