"Thank you for participating in the 2010 Census."

That's what is printed on the back of the envelope you use to mail in your census form. Yet on the front of the envelope they send you:

"YOUR RESPONSE IS REQUIRED BY LAW"

Its like if the government sent you a letter saying "Hey thanks for paying the income tax we remove from your check every week."

I'm not exactly participating if its forced am I?

Maybe its just my medication, but it made me chuckle.

They may not like some of my answers. They had better look before they tell me thanks.

They have sent me 3 "your census is coming letters" and 3 censuses. I sent the first one and the second one, but I am done. No wonder our spending in DC is out of control....Idiots!!!

I answered everything correctly except telephone number I left blank. I guess I could have been a little more creative though.

I almost wish they would have asked religious questions so I could put "Jedi" or something silly.

I only filled out the number of people living in the house, their age and sex. I did NOT fill out anything else. Them wanting to know your name, your birthdate, your telephone number, and other prying questions is ridiculous and if they want to go to court, we can go to court.

Haha, you could send in the 3rd one but fill it out in Chinese or something.

I'm still PO'd about the letter that came out to tell us the letter would come out for us to fill out the Census. How much did this cost? or was it done to keep the USPS busy?

And don't get me started, but the USPS says they need to raise postal rates, close post-offices, and restrict mail delivery to five-days a week to address their deficite and become profitable. How does this help the consumer? who ends up paying more for postage, travel further, and do it during restricted hours?

Yea I'm not too happy about that either. It ranks up there with the Air Force One New York city photo op thing they spent millions of dollars on a few months ago.

I just asked my assistant, and she said that the census form arrived today. I told her to let me fill it out.
