Thank God for the Glock!

My son whom has a concealed permit for his firearms was driving across country. He stopped in/around the Chicago area for a break with his dogs to eat, etc. He saw a shady looking man walking around and got prepared with his Glock. His German Shepard barked a distressing bark my son then looked up and saw a man running towards him with a machete yelling "get the "F" out of the truck. My son let him know he was armed and the man stopped dead in his tracks while my son put his key in the ignition and took off. One less car-jacking and one less serious situation that stopped quickly with the almighty Glock! I am so happy he is safe! HAHA BAD MACHETE MAN!:tongueout:

Yes, thank God for his Glock, but I hope he knows that he was breaking the law in Illinois. If Machete Man or someone else called the cops he would be going to jail.
Your son really needs to know each states carry laws and follow them.
So your son had a handgun in Chicago? Was it registered with the Chicago PD?

NOTE: In Chicago it is unlawful to keep any firearm unless it has been
registered with the Chicago Police at Daley Center. All firearms brought into
the city must be registered. The registration certificate (valid for 1 year) must
be carried simultaneously with the firearm, and exhibited upon demand of
any police officer. Handguns may not be registered after 1982. So-called
assault firearms may not be registered.

I suspect the OP was a joke. First post for the poster.

You'd prefer a chopped up son?
You'd prefer a chopped up son?
I don't think that's what anyone is suggesting here. Folks are simply pointing out that the OP, more specifically his son, should be aware that he is likely violating the law carrying in Chicago.

I prefer chopped salad with Russian dressing.
interesting first post. interesting choice of location to post.

How about introducing yourself...

Ya' sure.
Some thoughts:

1. Odd first post.

2. Illegal activities should generally be avoided.

3. Discussing illegal activities on Glock Talk is against the Terms of Service/rules.

4. The ability to drive away immediately (in the vehicle) was the real good thing, not having a firearm.
I call bull crud on this one, but if it's true....no offense, but your son isn't too observant. People are dressed for early fall and he didn't notice a 2 foot knife on the guy? Those things tend to stick out...I'm just saying.
And why didn't the son call the cops maybe because he was breaking the law himself.

Also GLOCK didn't prevent this he might of been carring a GLOCK but any carry gun would of worked.
If this is true the son is not to bright for even carrying over state lines with a firearm. Thank goodness it worked itself out and no one got hurt.

I think you are a troll, I really can't imagine any sort of father with any intelligence coming onto a site like this and boast about this. Secondly, no one here agrees in the least with Chicago gun laws, but your post condones breaking a law no matter how stupid. Find another place to brag about this kind of stuff, not here.
If it's true then I am glad it all worked out...but please have him check the laws.

IBTL.

Yeah obeying the law would have ended this story how? I carry everywhere and have for years and will continue to do so, my arse is more important than some stupid law.
Guy on foot with machete vs guy in truck. Why would the guy in the truck need a gun? Drive away, or drive over the guy.
Ok, nice story ( I honestly don't care about the gun laws concerns of other posters in this event) but what does it have to do with SP? Go post it in Carry Issues and let those guys beat you up :)
