The new District Attorney and several activist judges are doing more than even your incompetent mayor in ruining your city. No bail on all misdemeanors and some felonies...free Uber rides to court for defendants (and free daycare for their kids while they are in court!)...Houston has been hit hard by the leftists in the criminal justice system.

Out of curiosity, where does one need to go in Texas to see the "real Texas"?

It is in the Constitution. The Federal government has specific, enumerated powers. Anything not listed is a power belonging to the States. So if the State Constitution allows it, then it is legal.

"Founding principles" haven't mattered in over 100 years. Hitler knew the value of controlling the schools, and probably learned it from the US.

So how many of us have been to a school board meeting in the past year?

In my opinion, the State of Texas should come visit the DFW area and start taking over the school boards here. It is nothing short of criminal what's going on in schools here. There is NO learning happening, only indoctrination. The stated emphasis is on making students feel good about themselves. NOTHING about educating them.

Nowhere in the DFW area, that's for sure. I suspect West Texas.

Lots of areas-just avoid dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Anywhere else should be good.

This is one of the reasons I retired.
As far as the school board, I support the takeover. Maybe they will finally teach these kids to read, write, and cipher.

Big Bend National Park, Davis Mountains State Park & Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Outside of that, the western extremes of the Texas Hill Country. To see the "southern" side of Texas, visit the Big Thicket National Preserve and areas around there. Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo or the Llano Estacado are very "Texas" as well, though not nearly as impressive as the Grand Canyon. The Chisos Mountains in Big Bend are honestly spectacular and that's coming from a former Colorado resident. 14206063_10153658950097531_6794291376965376405_o.jpg
