Has anyone gone dove hunting on Annual Public Hunting lands especially the lands near Denton, TX? Good? Bad? I'm considering buying the Annual Permit and was wondering if the hunting was any good there.

    Thanks,

I haven't hunted on them up in Denton - but around Austin. Haven't seen a thing. Go and case them out - in any case, the license is around $45 and it is worth getting so you can hunt anywhere in Texas. Plus it supports the program so that TPW can continue to add public hunting lands.

I was down in Kingsville for opening day South Zone and we did well do to the rain - apparently there was an publibc lot not too far away with more dove then we had.

Just depends on what the land is used for and what is adjacent.

I'd be interested to stay posted if find anything out as I get up there about 1x - 2x per month. I think next time I'll go check it out.
