I agree to use the trial and error method with a scale.

If you really want to use the numbers I made a little calculator in Excel.
I can’t find a way to post a spreadsheet on this site so I converted it to text. Highlight everything below and copy it directly into Excel. This should result in an operational spreadsheet calculator. Remember that Lee’s VMD numbers are very conservative and that even after setting to the calculated numbers you will still have to use trial and error with a scale to fine tune.

Hope this helps,

Chris

[Highlight everything below and paste it into Cell A1 if an Excel Spreadsheet]
Enter Powder VMD below
0.1234
Enter desired charge in Grains below
10
Output
Estimated setting in CC (rounded)
=ROUND(A2*A4,2)
Turn to this major number
=ROUNDDOWN(A7,0)
Turn thimble this many extra turns
=(ROUNDDOWN(A7,1)-A9) * 10
Turn thimble extra to this number
=(ROUNDDOWN(A7,2) - ROUNDDOWN(A7,1))*100
