If time allows you can also shoot a bit north and visit the Hermitage (President Jackson's home)....it's located 12 miles east of downtown Nashville off of I-40. Also take a horse and buggy tour through downtown Nashville. Swinging by the Opryland hotel (not too far from the Hermitage) out in east Davidson County can be enjoyable. The hotel itself is absolutely huge and stunning, plenty of restaurants inside. I'd recommend one of my favorites restaurants, which was Texas Roadhouse in Brentwood/Cool Springs but it recently closed down, leaving the closest one north of Nashville in Hendersonville.
