I am tired of being unemployed and sitting around. Tell me where I can find a minimum wage job...one that I can put on a resume that doesn't look too stupid.

    Check your local unemployment office.

But you can prolly start out as a gas station attendant.

Thats one of the worst places to get a job unless you have a lot of previous experience in various trades or a college education.

If you can't find a job, you either aren't looking or you're being too picky. Gas stations are always hiring. Fast food joints are always hiring. Restaurants always need busboys. Go to your local Wal-Mart, Target, or Meijer's. Tell any/all of these places you'll work thirds.

I've got a buddy that "couldn't" find a job for over a year, because he and his worthless wife were convinced he just had to have his first job out of college be something that used his degree(s). He spent about fourteen months with her belittling and dominating him, making him ask for spending money, ask for permission to go do things with his friends, telling him what to do all the time, and all while she was the one that convinced him to wait until he found a "good" job. It was just about the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.

Good on you for not being "that guy," Andrewsky. The work's out there. It's not gonna be fun, it's not gonna be sexy, and you're not gonna brag about it -- but at the end of the day you'll bring home a paycheck, and that's better than some folks.

Try out Lowes or Home Depot. They, from my experiences are higher up on the retail totem poll and you can move up fairly fast to a decent position. And they're also not min wage.

Go to all the staffing and employment agencies and fill out paperwork. All of them.

People seem to not notice that they are there. I have ALWAYS found work that way. Not always what I wanted (although the best jobs I've worked all came from employment agencies, too), but something.

I know a guy who has a doctorate and is working as a loader at Lowes. He is still looking in his field and will eventually find something. He makes more than minimum wage too.

What JTmac said. Staffing agencies always have work lined up, even if they are short-term day or two gigs. They can keep you busy.

And you can still look for work on your own. Having the staffing agency is like having professional job hunters working for you. Always work out well for me.

Sounds good guys, thanks for the responses.

    I'm in AZ.

I speak Spanish and just got a degree, but it's in History. I am in the process of trying to get in to law school, but the earliest I can go is Fall 2011.

I think I'll look into a staffing agency. I'll just tell my friends, "People like me don't have to look for jobs. People like me are headhunted."

The spanish should be a positive in most any envionment that has latino's working. I would accentuate the second language skills.
