I picked one up for the bedroom in my college apartment. Since I am done with college I don't use it anymore, but liked it when I did use it.

No, just a plain DVD player.

We just put a 46 inch Visio 1080p LCD in our livingroom.

We love it, we are at the point where we can't watch anything unless it's in HD.

Unless they improved from a few years ago, I am not a fan. We had a 42" Vizio set for a couple of weeks, before returning it. Picture quality was pretty bad when compared to sets from LG, Sony, or Samsung, in the sense that blacks were kind of gray and washed out. Maybe they are better now. Anyway, the most important thing is the contrast ratio, and you want the highest possible. And not the dynamic contrast ratio that the manufacturers post, but the real, static ratio. The dynamic ratio is actually pretty meaningless. I just bought a Sony set, specifically trying to avoid Vizio, even though the Vizio was bigger for the same price. The picture quality just wasn't the same. Oh, my grandfather had his Vizio for 2 months, before it went out. Again, I don't know how they are now, my information is a few years old, but I still pay slightly more for a better brand.

My dad has one and it has great picture and sound quality. He has a 46' 1080p 120hz. I want one for myself but the budget is a little tight.

A friend of mine bought a 32" Vizio in 720p. At the time I had a 51" Sony projection in 1080i. The Vizio had a noticeably nicer picture in HD. I'll be looking at Vizios when I upgrade my bedroom TV.

We have 3,two 32" and a 19". They are great. Good picture and sound. Hubby works in media and he did a lot of research before we bought.

I prefer Samsung myself. But for the money, Vizo makes a pretty darn good TV, I know a couple people who have them and have no complaints and they've got a pretty good picture. Go for it if it's what you want.

I heard they were American made. Did a quick search and what I found that they were indeed made in America, North America that is, a place called Mexico. Don't confuse made in America with made in the USA.

How true that is! I've something like 10,000 channels but seem to only watch the 50 or so HD channels. And of course, I have a 4.5 month old
55" TV for the livingroom------------ NOW they have 3-D TV!!! Not that I would have bought a 3-D TV but, damn! Every 6 months or so everything gets outdated. :wow:

Vizio 32 and 46 inch here. Both less than a year old. Have been great so far.
I also did a lot of research prior to buying. I agree with most of what I read, best buck to bang ratio.

Samsung is touted as one of the best LEDs on the market. The Vizio almost hangs with it (IMO) for less.

Three weeks ago I purchased the Vizio 55 inch led hd tv and a Sony blu-ray

player. So far I love both of them. Good sound and great picture.
