People started expecting something for nothing. We were dumb enough to go along with it. Somebody's got to pay for it. Nothing's free. We should have told 'em, if you want it make it, grow it or get a job and buy it.;P
I guess I'm too old fashion.;)

Slick Willy went to the store the other day and bought condoms.
They were 3 for a dollar. The clerk rang them up and told Bill
he owed $1.10. Bill said the condoms are $1.00 Miss. The clerk
said the .10 is for tax. Bill said no way I thought you rolled
    them on;P

I'm not quite sure why I posted it here. Perhaps it's because when it comes to the government taxing the people, the "joke is on us."
Feel free to move it to a more appropriate venue. Sorry.

100 years ago we didn't have 1.4 cars per family. We didn't have a highway system. No national electric grid. Oil,natural gas, water pipelines. Telephone, cable wires. Airports. Hot showers. Soft toilet paper. Hospitals close enough to not bleed to death enroute. NASA. Sports and other facilitys for schools. We had alot of land that a family could live off. I'll stop now.

And I gotta disagree on that large middle class thing. I don't believe that for a second. THere was more crime and more poverty 100 years ago. Maybe the definition of "Middle Class" has just changed.
