So KingO is returning a small bit of my money to me. The New Gun Bug has got me. The shortlist:

    1.) Sig 226 9mm SCT
    2.) 1911 ... of some sort
    3.) 4th Gen Glock 17
    4.) old school S&W revolver

1-3 could, maybe, be used as a duty gun. #4 is just for fun. I want something I can order and pick up in a week or so, not interested in waiting a year for Springer Pro.

    What says the braintrust.

Combine options 1 and 2, get a nice stainless P220, but some slim aluminum grips on it and then send it to GGI in Oregon.

That's what I am doing with my check.

We had a really bad run of luck with 220s as duty guns. Just sayin'.

Always raining on my 220 love. GGI will take care of any reliability issues. My p220s have been problem free!

If I get the 226 I'll send it off to them for the primo trigger job. I'm leaning towards the Sig and nixing the 1911. I want to spend under a grand, and all of the 1911s I like are quite a bit more than that. The Sig is about $700 using the Sig LE program.

I have three 1911s I can carry at work. One of these days I want to pick up a 226 Blackwater because of the huge capacity for another duty gun. Too bad the trigger is awful. The ones I have messed with anyway.

Coincidentally or maybe not mine is going for a Sig P220 the all stainless one with the external extrctor. Were it not that, I would be looking for a (pre) Model 27 with the gorgeous deep blue finish or maybe a model 28.

I like #4. How about a Model 66. One of my favorite SW revolvers. Maybe a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece. Both were good looking revolvers.

I had the same thing happen and ended up with a CZ-75 sp-01; night sites, DA/SA, cocked and locked option, solid steel, very accurate, inexpensive to feed (9mm), and 19 round mags.

It was like all of your choices melded into one gun.

Wow...I thought I was the only one searching for a S&W wheelgun. I have been looking in the local shops for a 4inch Smith either Mod 64 or 67 with no luck.

Weren't you asking the same question last year with your tax return?? You should have saved the last one so you could buy what you really want, which is #2. And I'm all about revolvers. They are very good guns. But they were just removed from our dept directive for any type of carry, including off duty or BUG.

    Buy a Gen 4 Glock.

Buy a boat from Cabela's, they're on sale this week.
